Everyone's wondering where the news on this is, but I think Rockstar's marketing approach is pretty obvious. Get one May release out then start hyping the next May release. They've gone on record saying one AAA title a year from them, so once L.A. Noire is done, we'll either see this, or GTAV on for May 2012, and the other on for May 2013.

They are different. The Agency was an MMO and has just been canceled. Agent is a game developed by Rockstar.

I REALLY hope we see some actual footage at this year's E3. With LA Noire out of the way, I hope Rockstar focuses on this. I fear they might skip it and end up going straight to the next GTA

No way. Sony gave up LA Noire exclusivity (even after putting some of it's own money into it) so it could have this one. I just don't see that happening.

Rockstar made a statement after Red Dead's release that they were going to do one AAA title a year from now on. I'd assume, seeing as Max Payne is out this Christmas, that they meant based on the GTA engine, meaning if GTAV is out in 2012, then expect Agent in 2013 and vice vera.

This thread gets bumped up every few months for no reason. People have it on their subscription and when it shows up again, we always think there's some actual news only to be dissapointed. He was just expressing his sorrow that this was yet again another false alarm

Back at E3 2009, one of the highlights of Sony’s press conference was when Jack Tretton, President and CEO of SCEA, took the stage to announce that Rockstar North was developing a new PS3 exclusive called Agent. And… that’s about the last we heard of the game. Unfortunately, it looks like we’re going to be waiting even longer.

Two years and two E3s have already passed since that announcement. It looks like two more years will pass before the game ever releases – if ever at all. Although Take Two said the sandbox-style Agent was still in development exclusively on the PS3, there hasn’t been as much as a peep detailing the game; no screenshots, trailers or other media, either. That’s not a good sign.
Even worse, Take Two just revealed their upcoming release line-up stretching as far as fiscal year 2013. Agent, sadly, is nowhere in sight (see below).

What this means for the PS3 exclusive Agent is anyone’s guess. But it certainly has me wondering why they chose to announce the game two years ago if development was so far off. This is one very secret agent…
