Why does everyone want Aquaman to be huge?

I know he's depicted that way, but wouldn't it make more sense for a swimming character to be a little lankier and leaner?

His size doesn't matter because he is superhuman, he can be huge and a fast swimmer because it's one of his abilities as he is atlantean.

I think DC has been shamed into not liking their own characters by all the jokes poked at Aquaman over the years.........

And yet ANT-MAN............(another lampooned hero) is already in production and with a sweet clip.........
