Well, do they at least have an appeals system?

Like let's say worst case...I dunno...threatens to start **** with Italy? (I know, a very bad example...)
Were you like, her guidance counselor or something?This girl and her boyfriend (ex, I assume) are victims of Italy's inept, archaic judicial system and a ruthless character assassination by tabloid and mainstream media. She clearly is not guilty as there is no evidence and no motive. The case was totally botched. An entire case was built on evidence that was compromised.
The level of injustice here is far into the territory if insanity. The US State Department should get involved with this and do everything in their power to bring her home.
