UPDATE: The cast has been announced!

UPDATE #2: For the first time ever, the teams had to compete a task at the start line with only 11 teams moving on. ERIC/LISA did not complete the challenge in time, and were eliminated at the start line.

Tonight's episode was a great start to the race!

That felt kind of ****ed up to eliminate a group at the starting line, but the guy in the couple kind of annoyed me at the beginning, so I didnt feel all that bad...

I like the Harlem Globetrotters, so I'm picking them to win the whole thing. Of course, I could be wrong, much like I was on America's Got Talent.

Lance and Keri are gonna be a fun team to watch implode. Lance has way too big of an ego, I'm gonna enjoy his meltdowns.

I like Zev and Justin. It was pretty cool watching him round up those ducks. (And they started calling him the 'duck whisperer'. )

These groups seem very well balanced for a change (ie there aren't any fatties that have never been outside their hometown).

Okay, I just found this thread. Random musings about the episode:

- I pray the poker girls stick around. Looks like they're going to bring the drama.

- I don't hate any teams yet. That's a good thing.

- I hope Lance turns into a d-bag I love to hate and not a d-bag I hate to hate.

- I really disliked the elimination at the start of the race. At least let the teams leave the country.

- Those Japanese tourists were hilarious, what with their bumbling and facial reactions to the teams.

- I'm glad they haven't been forcing a hero edit on Zev the way they did on Luke last season.

- The ducks were cute.

I wanted Margie and Luke to win last season! I'm really enjoying Zev. It's neat to watch him overcome the challenges.

Great start. I don't have a clear favorite team yet. I really like Zev, but his partner's almost a non-entity. Can't even remember his name.

The Globetrotters are cool, but surprisingly they don't have half the charisma of, say, Mel and Mike.

I kinda like the Poker Girls. They have that competitiveness without necessarily bringing drama or being *****y about it (like Lance does; can't wait for him to be eliminated btw). Problem is, they seem to be TERRIBLE at racing.

I'm glad the yoga couple got eliminated right at the start. They were annoying enough during those few minutes they were on.

I'd really be rooting for Meghan and Cheyne if it wasn't for him. That *****ebag hair and the stupid spelling of the name just make me want to punch him. They're a strong team, and a stable one (relationship-wise) so far. If he didn't inherently annoy me I'd definitely root for them.

Mika and Canaan wouldn't be missed. I'd like to see them go right after Lance. After them, Miss America. She's just kind of bit*#y IMO.

Other than that... dunno. No strong feelings one way or the other on the rest of the teams.

Lance and Keri are amusingly stupid, so I hope they stick around, preferably around the bottom so we can see more hysteria. Lance's d-bag pose at the mat had me loling.

I liked the old couple, but they were slow and rather dull, so I didn't mind them leaving.

Zev and Justin are now my favorite team.

Yep, Meghan and Cheyne are definitely the top contenders, right next to the Globetrotters. Team Pinky and the Brain are also doing pretty well so far.

I'm rooting for Zev and Justin, but I don't really think they'll win, unless they get REALLY lucky.

I've actually warmed up a little to Team Miss America. They're not a bad team at all, this was a pretty good leg for them.

Obviously, can't wait for *****ebag Lance and shrill Keri to be eliminated. After making so many mistakes, they definitely deserve it. Then again, that doesn't mean a lot in Amazing Race. The stunt brothers last season lasted a lot, and they were pretty f***in terrible. All about luck, I guess.

Oh, and for the record, Maria from the poker team is absolutely USELESS. Tiffany dragged the animal alone, while Maria only took the balloons, and then she actually made Tiffany do the roadblock, even after Tiffany said she felt like she was going to pass out!! Tiffany did awesome, and she's pretty charismatic, but her teammate is absolute dead weight.
