Sequels The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Scheduled for May 2, 2014!

Not even 2 years after this one comes out, I'm fine with that.

They already have the story/script,the villain will be the Green Goblin.

Really? Let's see how people like the new one first.

I would like chameleon/ Kraven for the sequel

I like your signature. Sounds like a good villain line-up for a quadrilogy (if that's what it's called).

Thank you. I’d have Brock, Green Goblin, Spider-Man getting the symbiote, the deaths of Gwen and Norman, and an appearance by Venom all for Amazing Spider-Man 3, although you’d have to put in more of an explanation of the symbiote, but it would be a plus and certainly keep interest in Amazing Spider-Man 4.

The Night Gwen Stacy Died and the symbiote saga deserve to be given priority. Take three films to develop Gwen and entrench her with the general audience, just like she was with the comic audience.

Synopsis

When Norman Osborn hears that he’s facing financial ruin, he becomes Green Goblin and encounters Spider-Man for the first time in battle. Spider-Man then gets the symbiote and takes it to have it looked at by Dr. Connors, who informs him what it is and what its intentions are. Despite Connors’ warning, Peter keeps the symbiote and starts acting differently, much to Gwen’s dismay. Peter and Gwen begin drifting apart throughout the film.

Eddie Brock (Jensen Ackles), introduced as a journalist for the Daily Bugle in Amazing Spider-Man 2, finds someone actually confessing to be Green Goblin and writes an article revealing the man’s identity, which is published by the Bugle. However, Spider-Man reveals that Brock has been interviewing a compulsive confessor. Brock is fired from the Bugle and blames Spider-Man for his downfall.

Green Goblin abducts Gwen and lures Spider-Man to a bridge. The two fight, and Green Goblin hurls Gwen off the bridge. Spider-Man shoots a strand of web at her leg and catches her. As he pulls her up, he thinks he’s saved her, but soon realizes she’s dead. Green Goblin escapes, and Spider-Man tracks him down to a warehouse, where Peter violently beats Norman to a pulp, but can’t bring himself to kill him and realizes that the symbiote is beginning to take over. Norman uses the opportunity to send his glider to impale Peter from behind. Warned by his spider sense, Peter jumps out of the way just in time, and the glider instead impales Norman and kills him.

Spider-Man swings to a nearby church and removes the symbiote, using the sound of the church bell to weaken it. Peter, weak as well from the removal, starts walking home.

Peter, back at home and devastated, encounters an equally saddened and shocked Mary Jane, who’s lost her friend, and the two comfort each other.

Meanwhile, Brock is seen entering the same church Spider-Man was at and kneels at the altar. Brock asks for forgiveness for contemplating suicide, unaware that above him is the symbiote moving quickly toward him. Brock is engulfed by the symbiote and starts transforming into a bigger, black Spider-Man. A giant white spider emblem appears on his back and chest, along with a white square on each hand. A large pair of white eyes are formed, and razor sharp teeth are shown. Venom looks up at the camera and screams as the screen goes black.

I'm assuming that you believe that Sony is jumping the gun with this announcement. If that's not what you meant, I apologize, but I don't see anything wrong with them getting that release date nailed down. An early May release is always great because that's where the summer movie season really begins. A lot of big films have seen huge success being released in that time frame, including the first Spider-Man film back in 2002. To me, this shows that Sony has faith in the new film and believes that it will be a success, which is a good sign.

This shows nothing but Sony's contempt for Marvel. It's a huge slap in the face to Marvel and I hope they treat it as such. Sony pays next to nothing for the rights to a billion dollar franchise and now has to step on toes to make sure Marvel remembers who they were before they became their own juggernaut studio. That's what knowledgeable people will read in to this announcement.

In what way are they slapping Marvel in the face or stepping on toes? It's them making the best of what they've got. Sony has a franchise that is successful and they're taking steps to ensure the future success of that franchise. I know that a lot of fans are upset that Marvel Studios doesn't have the rights to Spider-Man, but that's the way it is. And it's not like Sony has treated the property poorly.

I'm talkling taking the first spot of May this early as if to beat Marvel Studios to the punch.

Well, that's too bad for Marvel Studios. If they didn't have anything scheduled, then they didn't have anything scheduled. Marvel Studios doesn't have a guaranteed right to that spot. It's first come, first serve. Why should Sony sacrifice what could be a great spot for one of their biggest franchises just to wait and see if Marvel Studios wants to release a movie on that date? Sony isn't doing this just to spite Marvel or anything like that. They're just doing smart business.

Spider-Man opened in early May. Spider-Man 2 was scheduled for May before moving to June. Spider-Man 3 was released early May as well. Thor moved into Spider-Man 4's vacated spot in early May. I'm sure Amazing would have taken early May if not for the Avengers. So now they are beating them to the punch. That is Marvel Studio's problem.

I know I'm not the only one who misread this and thought they were saying ASM was pushed back to 2014? I can't be.

Man, when I first read that news article I saw it as "Amazing Spider-man Scheduled for May 2, 2014." I didn't see the "2" so I nearly had a heart attack haha.

:funny:

Wait for another 3 more years.......hell no. I just cant imagine that.

Thank-god..:word:

Now set the date for ASM3 and ASM4!!!

Don't break the 2 year gap pls!!!

That's Hollywood for ya. No one waits anymore to see if the first film's a hit. Well,I think ASM will be a hit,but still. lol

Marvel turned around and slapped Sony back with its announcement of a movie to be released on May 16, 2014. That will take some of the wind out of ASM2's sails, assuming it makes the date and isn't delayed for some reason.

I think Marvel wanted to open Summer 2014 but Sony got it first and now they announced their dates for their future films in 2014 too, just so they won't have a hard time finding a good date.
