Saw the trailer again, saw Peter in Kraven's apartment
Guess here goes my hope in him not knowing Peter is Spider-Man

Yeah I thought that was odd too.

I guess Kraven knows his secret. Since he knows about Peter and Uncle Ben's killer.

Kraven is a hunter so I guess he tracked Spidey and found out his secret.

It makes sense, his son figured Spider-Man is Peter in the comics

Why do you think Kraven helping Spidey is lame by the way? I think it's neat to see something different, especially from a movie game.
It was my first impression, before recalling how much I like the animated version of Kraven from the 90s

I like it. Tells the audience that this is no perfect Spider-Man we're playing but a guy kind of new to the job with his "3rd" adventure (movie 1, game 1, game 2).

Anyone else concerned that the developers seem to be once again hiding the web swinging from us in this trailer? They know that people have been demanding a return of the web swinging mechanics from 'Spider-man 2' ever since it came out, and they intentionally mislead people into thinking it would be returning for the last game, then witheld any proper gameplay footage up until weeks before the release.
Now they've drawn my attention by clearly stating that webs would be attatching to buildings and once again implying that we would see a similar system to Spider-man 2, yet after waiting months for a trailer they are only showing small microsecond glimpses of the swinging, asthough they know people are going to be disapointed with it.
I'm tired of this *****.

It would be a nice change for them to actually show some gameplay this time around but that's just status quo for Activision/Beenox. Every game they've done has featured the same type of marketing--using highly edited trailers to gain people's attention. Last year we got lucky and the game released a couple of weeks after E3, so we had the chance to at least view the game being played. I'm not sure there is a similar event between now and May that would allow for the same benefit.

I feel the same way.....I was mislead the first time. Not this time.

Yeah it does seem dodgy. But let's wait until a gameplay video comes out...if a gameplay video comes out...

They confirmed that webs stick to the sky months before the games release (TASM1). Dee Brown said it on his twitter and also said they did it on purpose for fluid gameplay.

And we could test the game even before E3. They had a contract with 2 fast food chains in the US where you could win the game + console etc. and test it out. A lot of gameplay videos leaked during that time (that's what got the whole sky swinging into rolling I think).

Dude.....we barely saw footage from those events and Carl Jr. Is all the way in La. Besides...u had to actually play the game to know it was cloud swinging and to know it had fake momentum. Don't tell your customers one thing and then deliver something else. Dee Browns responses about the swing system were pretty stupid tbh. Keeping cloud swinging knowing that's not what fans wanted was a dumb decision. The entire swing system was automated. He literally repeated the same animation over and over. Over time I preferred web rush to travel even though that got unrealistic at times (web rush into the sky?????) And it got boring too since it was automated and didn't allow the player to alter Spidey's movements. We couldn't press x to do a trick? All he can do is spin?????? Stuff like that doesn't give me a lot of confidence in this game.

I don't know where you looked but I saw plenty of footage on e.g. YouTube. Most videos were short but there were a few 5-7 minute long videos of pure freeroaming. You could very well see the web-rush and web-swinging mechanics months before the games release.

Some people should just email beenox and ask them about more videos, they have answered every email I've sent to them.

It can't be that long anymore, they'll probably release more videos more frequently now (considering they want to release with the movie which starts 17th April here, Activision site says 17th April release too).

I just hope they listen to us and post a few dev walkthroughs. I mean they could easily showcase their new web-swinging mechanic by posting a 1-2 minute long video. An awesome way of gaining more pre-orders.

Or well, they could gain a lot more pre-orders by allowing pre-orders in e.g. germany and the other countries where they seemingly forgot to put them on online stores (amazon etc.). Still waiting for them to add it to amazon.de so I can throw my money at them already.

yup, seems like they just ported the same animations and fight moves from the first game, maybe they didn´t have enough time to make it really different and improove it

The animations were good, atleast some. Like the one you see in the swinging screenshot (it looks like there's actually a force behind the swing).

I may be asking for too much here (or not) but it would be awesome to swing off helicopters again. Mix it with the ability to land on them again.

Also 100th post! :woot:

Anyone else not buying the hero or mentance idea?

Because Spidey wouldn't act like a menace? Yeah, it's an interesting concept though. I know it was done in Web of Shadows but still, interesting to see it again without the black suit's involvement. I guess I would have a problem with it. The black suit is the only thing I can see making Spidey a menace. Either that or we're secretly playing as Mysterio when we choose to be a menace. LOL
