It does look like the first game. Even down to the combos. SMH.....I'm going to be sick.
The blue guy is Electro from the movie, Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Reflective lenses would be a nice touch. White ones are goofy looking when the story seems dark.
Oh and Kraven training Spidey, interesting!

How and why would he be in this game at all?
Why wouldn't he?

If this game is set after the events of TASM2, then it'd make some sense. I guess that's the case?

Spider-man 2 used the same animations for Spider-man that were in Spider-man 1 movie game. Same running, same walking, same jump( uncharged), going to be sick? I think you're being a little over dramatic there.
No actually they weren't all the same. The model was different as was the combos, the swing system, the tricks, the FREE roam city...etc.
And it's a figure of speech. It is how I felt like wording it. It's ok if my words and feelings differ from yours. No matter how over dramatic they might be.
Besides I didn't come in here to argue with you about how I feel about the game. No matter how over dramatic it might be to you.
I don't think the game takes place after the movie
This game is more than likely loosely based on TASM1 & TASM2, and it makes sense to include Electro in the game, at least for marketing purposes. There has to be something consistent with the movie if they are going to use the same title, you know?
I really just wish they could focus on making a Spider-Man game not based on the films, but w/e.
It's not that I'm being harsh. Beenox responds to me very often on Twitter and I can sense their passion for the game. However, what annoys me about their spiderman games is there always seems to be something that prevents them from being great. That's my opinion though. It's very annoying for me as a gamer and as a Spiderman fan. I already gave them the benefit of the doubt with the first game after they claimed cloud swinging wasn't in and then I actually bought it and it was in. Stuff like that makes me not trust them or shall I say it makes me think twice before buying the game. I'm a lot more skeptical than I was for ASM because of the issues with ASM. So it's not me being harsh it's me picking apart things and being observant of what could potentially be another disappointment. It's to protect myself. I can't just blindly buy the game because it's Spiderman. I'm not doing that anymore...
The first game wasn't loosely based on TASM1. It clearly took place afterwards. Since this new game seems to be following in the first's footsteps, I'm not sure why you'd assume it's loosely based on the movies and not an original story. Nothing in the trailer indicates that it's based on TASM2 the movie itself, aside from a random appearance by Electro.
That sounds about right. My point was that the games could still easily take "inspiration" from the films. In other words, if the main villain of TASM3 is Green Goblin, then Green Goblin will probably appear in TASM3: The Game.I'm paraphrasing but I remember hearing something like this,
"The first game took place after the first movie and is only canon in it's own universe. From now on the movies go their way and the game's universe will go it's own".
