I'm glad that suits actually have different stats. When I play as Symbiote Spidey, Captain Universe Spidey, or Spider-Man 2099, I'd like to have their abilities. Be it things like unlimited webbing, extra defense, quicker reflexes, invisibility, etc. That's what I loved about the first 2 Spider-Man games on PS1.

Different abilities are sweet and all, but in this game it's more like... not seen as easily, stronger hits, etc. They're real simple modifiers. Those you listed off (outside of defense) actually sound super rad.

Suits are okay bonuses but man... I just... I don't dig them becoming a part of the gameplay, just like the menace system. If we had J.J. berating us, fine, but when I get punished for not doing random mini-quests, I hate it. The suits shouldn't be these stat changing additions to be leveled up individually, they should be cosmetic fan-service.

They had it that way in TASM1 and literally 90% of the userbase on their official board and most other fan boards complained about suits being purely cosmetic. They wanted the different suits to have different perks/abilities and Beenox listened.

Atleast give them a bit of credit mate ;)

In fact, I can't think of ANY point the fans brought up they didn't look at and implement in one way or the other:
- More realistic web swinging with webs attaching to structures, boosts and left/right hand support? Check
- Open level design for missions (hub world & more open levels instead of corridors etc.)? Check
- Suits with perks? Check
- Infinite crimes as an endless mode in freeroam? Check
- Peter Parker gameplay (kind of)? Check
- More details in the city (proper Oscorp tower etc.)? Check
- Proper proportions for Spidey (no Thor body, smaller teenage like and not as big as the goddamn lizard)? Check
- Proper suit colours? Check
- Improved gameplay mechanics ("improved combat & web rush confirmed")? Check

Big list, but we still have to wait and see how they took on that list and if they really managed to fullfil everything listed (I mean a lot of the things they said for TASM1 sounded great but ended up not nearly as great as advertised).

The only things that arent confirmed and I'd like to see in a future game (if not in this one) are:
- Chain together web-rush points (Open web-rush overlay, use A/X to mark a few points and have Spidey web-rush from point to point -> could be upgradeable?)
- REAL GODDAMN PHYSICS for web-swinging. I'm calling it now, the webs attaching to structures is purely cosmetic. It will still be pretty much the same web-swinging we have in TASM1 with a few minor cosmetic changes (decide what hand to use etc). We didn't see whether we can hold onto a webline and they already dun goofed with their walkthrough trailer showing us that the physics/momentum is fake (he shoots a webline outside of the tunnel, swings through it and the webline magically clips through the tunnel ceiling? Spidey swings through lampposts etc?). Spidey 2 had this, the weblines had actual physical properties to them and they bend etc. when you hit a lamppost causing you to launch upwards.
- Proper, unlimited Peter Parker gameplay. I already know how this will be underwhelming in this game, possibly only allowing us to play Peter in missions etc. and the dialogues are already confirmed to have no impact at all (you could essentially skip them). I want to be able to walk around as Peter without anyone noticing me (incognito, not being Spider-Man) and take pictures etc. Hell I wouldn't even mind going to Petes highschool or the university for cutscenes/sidemissions or meet up with Gwen (if she doesn't bite it in the upcoming movie) or MJ.

Really? I'll admit I stay away from game message boards so I never really see backlash unless it's a reader responses to my stuff. I used to frequent forums quite often in the game-o-sphere but it was just... toxic I feel.

So... well dang. The populous has spoken! I'd like pure cosmetic ones, but if the fans demand it well, give the people what they want! I'll stick with the default web-head for 3/4ths of the time.

(you could essentially skip them).

I thought Greg Miller stated you could actually skip them?

Yep that's what I meant. They don't have any impact on the story/game itself which means you can skip them alltogether (don't know if you can actually skip them, maybe Greg meant you could literally spam the options until the conversation is over or whether you can press a button to skip to the end).

Having that would be fun

It would but I doubt we get it with this game. Oh well, I just hope they atleast base the webswing on the anchorpoint of the webline. Looks like it though since he swings around the corner of a building.

Not sure if these were posted before, but i saw some new pics:

I am excited about the game! I watched the excerpted gameplay footage and really liked what I saw.

I hope they don't give this higher requirements than what they gave their first movie game, the games don't deserve high PC requirements

Game outlets here in Australia are giving a release date of May 7th. Is that right? What's the earliest it will become available overseas? I might consider getting it shipped over.

I wish there were screenshots for the ps3/360 versions. I am really worried they totally skimped on last gen, much like how the spider-man 3 game played out. It was completely different, and utterly terrible on PS2.

I thought TASM2: The Game was primarily designed for PS3/360?

Yea that's what they say lol. I just can't believe it With situations like this. I'll still be preordering it, but hopefully here are some head to head comparisons the day before release!

Looks pretty fun to me, the web-swinging at least. I'll definitely get it when I get a PS4 for Arkham Knight, unless the reviews say there's not much difference between the versions for each generation, in which case I'll get it for 360.

Will there be a PC version? Wonder how the webswinging is like on PC. Left and right click for the left and right trigger?
