I sure hope so. But I want a better Publisher. And tbh I wouldn't mind if they tried another developer as well.
Activision owns Beenox, so this is probably also their last Spidey game.

Unless... Activision has the rights for the whole The Amazing Spider-Man franchise...

I want Marvel to lend the license of Spider-Man to United Front Games. Sleeping Dogs is such a brilliant open-world game, and they could really get great results. Avalanche Studios (not Software) is another one that could make great things. And they're opening an office in NY!

Omg I would love that! I hope Activison doesn't still own the movie rights....please no more!

No, they use the movie license. They'll continue to release TASM3 and TASM4.

This game has been made because Marvel needs to complete their contract with Sony about TASM videogames (Sony gave their license to Activision because they had the license since years ago). We don't know if there are any other games that must be made, if now that Activision doesn't have the full license Sony will revoke it, maybe this game still launches because it was already in development when the contract expired, etc.

There's a sea of questions, but all points to Activision seeing their last piece of Spider-Man money in a long time with this game.

You know that for sure? How do you know that's there's a separate movie and marvel license? Spider-man is still Spider-man. Unless you have it in writing then I am going to assume that Activision can't develop the movie games either. I don't see why that would be two separate licences.

Beenox confirmed it several times already because everyone was wondering why both TASM games still exist.

This is just one of the many tweets/posts confirming it:

Some quotes for the lazy:

(Guy asked whether we see alternate costumes due to comic license gone):
We did offer a Peter Parker suit in Edge of Time, but the game was set in the comic universe, which is a different license.
Absolutely not. There were unlockable costumes in the previous game, also using the movie licence, right?
Since the game is using the new movie licence, the Vigilante Suit we have showcased in ASM1 will probably make a return.

Thanks. And I think that's so lame. I don't want Beenox anymore. What they heck are they going to add in ASM3? ZOMG! Charge jump!!! ZOMG! We changed the swing system again so you can now use 3 web lines instead of two and we will STILL swing for you! That's right! Our physics system has not changed and we will even lock all the previous game's upgrades and repackage them like they are new! And because you demanded it we didn't change the combat system for the 3rd time! It's good at is!:oldrazz:

Just finished the game.. The story is a bit weak, villains motivations are really bad (except Carnage),but its a lot of fun, those who liked/loved the first one must buy it.

8/10

I hope we get a Gwen Dlc,there is potential on that.

What if two different studios, with two different producers, create Spider-Man games at the same time? One with the comic book license and Another with the Movie license.

What if they'd start copying each others' ideas?

That's nice to liked it.

On another note. It's kind of funny how the villains just stop and talk to Spidey after he beats them.......

I'd be cool with that.

God I hope so... if they rush out challenge stuff again I'm going to cry in a corner. Spidey games cry for story DLC, it just makes sense.

I take it the villain motives aren't copied straight from the movie? Well could be either way since the motives were REALLY cringeworthy in the movie (for both Electro and Harry). Atleast nothing a 30 second talk couldn't have solved.

Yeah, because it's not like that never happened in any other Spidey games.....

Dissapointed about Gwen, she is just mentioned two times and there isn't a bio or a action figure of her.

We quickly see Max becoming Electro and he just pop out of nowhere with the suit at TS,Harry is even worse,he start to plant bombs on the city,he is like Dafoe GG but very very simpler, Carnage/Cletus is okay.

Spiderman 2 was fairly ground based too though, WoS did it better. Too bad there is no Doc ock, maybe the next one I guess. I really want them to add charge jump, that is the only thing really missing.

So is this game gonna be worth buying? I haven't kept up with it as much as I did the first one.

Everyone says it's essentially the same as the first title with a kind of different swinging mechanic and generally everything that made the first game is a bit improved. It's still "only" above average according to a lot of people I talked to, story is ok. If you liked the first one you'll like this one too, more stuff to do.

How is the combat compared to the first?Any differences?

I know they added the ability to counter multiple enemies at the same time. I like that feature.

I'm on the edge here. Game comes out on Steam tomorrow (even though official release is may 2nd here) and I can get it for 16€ (!!!) + Beenox said it's pretty much the console experience with high-res visuals. But I don't want to get burned, I know that TASM1 ran like crap on a lot of PCs and they never bothered releasing a patch to fix all the issues it had. Not worth it throwing 16€ out of the window, especially not when I probably can't cancel my PS4 version pre-order anymore by the time it unlocks (and I'm too lazy to send it back to amazon, would end up with 2 games).
