Booting the game up, as we speak!

Hope it doesn't suck.

So what's the deal with the pre order movie tickets. What's your guys story on gamestop? Did they half ass it like everything else, or were you able to get your movie tickets? I'm going in an hour or so. I hope they still have tickets, I'm counting in them lol.

I called them and the guy barely knew what the heck was going on. There is the launch event today but all the giveaways and stuff they mentioned wasn't true.

It's just the tickets and the game plus 30% trade-in.

I was gonna buy this but the lack of reviews and my so/so feelings from the Youtube videos I watched made me think differently. Really, the two free movie tickets at Gamestop was the main draw from me to buy the game since I have a few games I could trade in, but I still don't wanna waste trade in credit and money on a medicore game that I will be done with in like a week. Also, something tells me the reviews for this are gonna be like 5's and 6's out of 10 maybe some 7's. Whenever, a game has ZERO reviews on release day its never a good sign.

played a few minutes of it on Steam. The gameplay itself seems fun. Webswinging is great, combat is good but is different enough from Arkham that it takes a bit of getting used to.

Biggest issue I have is the framerate. While it was fairly consistently 60 frames for the most part, it drops to 30 when webswinging, which is a big disappointment. My graphics aren't even maxed out yet.

I respect your opinion. I'm happy you got to see what the game has to offer before hand.

I made that mistake with the first game. I like some parts of the game but I was not a fan of the automated swing system. It really turned me off. This game looks pretty similar to the first one in the gameplay and swinging department.(Lack of full control in the swinging)

I do not think the swing system is fluid at all. In some videos I saw people start a swing then abruptly cut off pressing x and then rinse and repeat. I also noticed that traveling around the city isn't that easy. It seems like you start swinging and right after you bump into a building. Idk if it's a matter of mastering the swing system but I don't think that's the case.

I think Beenox has the proper feel(controller rumble) for some of the physics and movement but imo they still have a ways too go in the locomotion and gameplay/etc.

Since when do reviews matter if they are on release day? They don't lol. Are you a spider-man fan?

If you don't dig the YouTube videos and screenshots then that's a diff story, but don't worry about reviews man, who cares. If your interested in a game, just get it, or even rent it. Don't rely on other people's opinion because you could be missing out on some of your personal favorite games of all time.

I don't know how many "10 outa 10" games I've HATED, and "5 out of 10" I've ADORED. if I dare listen to reviews I would have missed out on MY favorite game of all time. Would have been a real shame.

So even if asm2 gets 5's it's matters not! You still should give it a chance IF your interested, you may wind up loving it! I understand if you don't dig the gameplay and are on the fence, but in that case I'm not sure what to do to convince you lol, just have to ask yourself if you really want to play a new Spider-Man game or not and what's it worth to you. You can take your time with the game. You don't have to RUSH through it. I plan on playing just about an hour a day. It will last about a week for me!

I say free tickets are worth it, it cuts the cost by 20 bucks. Along with some trade credit toward Spidey, not bad. Especially when there's no other games that are really coming out that strike my fancy. *shrug*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjpfvmuFIuY Here's a vid that showcases the swinging a little better than the other videos. It's still no SM2 but it does look like he goes faster which is something I like.

They still need to add more variety in the next game. Air tricks, more fluid wall running, bouncing off walls(x),the bottom of the swing mechanic from SM2(I think it would really help to make the swinging feel and look less automated),double jump, and web zip. I am going to post my suggestions list soon. I look forward to hearing what you guys think.

I respect your opinion but I still would rather read opinions from gaming journalist before dropping 60 dollars for a game that has a HIGH chance of being sub par or flat out garbage. Yes, I am a Spider Man fan, but I am not gonna run out a buy a game with Spider Man on the cover without doing research. I been burned by one or two movie games in the past, and I am not making that mistake again. That 60 dollars I would drop on this, could be used for movie tickets to the movie and dinner with some change to spare!

I've been playing too an hour or so. The only thing I don't like is that there are a lot of loading screens (thankfully, in PC they're fast), but gameplay wise, everything has been improved from TASM 1 (swinging, combat and specially stealth). Web Rush is different, it's harder to find anchor points for it to work (it also relies a lot about the buildings within range, not like TASM 1)

I'm playing on PC all maxed out, it's a good port, good graphics. I feel it's short, but I'm liking it a lot.

PD: Swinging without boost could be faster, with boost, is great.

Ok...I'm definitely going to have to get this. The combat looks like it has hidden gems.......we shall see.

Swinging is the best system since SM2 in my opinion, I don't know why so many streamers struggled with it, it's very easy to use and maneuver around. I have had no problems with it so far and you can get some good speed if you let go of the web line at the bottom of a swing, haven't done any combat yet, but the game is a pleasant surprise so far.

the new symbiote suit looks meh.. i dunno its not shiny, it looks like cloth.. not really high res textures up close either..

I wish there was a way to turn off the cut scenes when you stop crimes. Also, I wonder why the first random crimes didn't have loading screens, spidey would just swing in and save the day...But every one after those first now have loading screens and cinematics

The only DLC costume I care about, is the Symbiote one. And that will probably get a proper mod by the community. Here is how the mod looked like for the first game.

was there ever a dedicated database for mods?

MarvelMods did stuff for MUA and Spider-Man 3... I think.

I think they're dead though.

I actually don't know. I got my Mods from the site called 'Marvel Mods'. You just have to go through the threads and look up what people have done.

There are also awesome modders who take requests. That's how I got my SM3 inspired Symbiote outfit.

My least favorite costume is the Ricochet costume. It's the hair......lol.

For future games I am going to suggest special abilities. For example in the comics Ricochet could fire disks. It's a small touch but it would be really cool.
