I respect your opinion but I still would rather read opinions from gaming journalist before dropping 60 dollars for a game that has a HIGH chance of being sub par or flat out garbage. Yes, I am a Spider Man fan, but I am not gonna run out a buy a game with Spider Man on the cover without doing research. I been burned by one or two movie games in the past, and I am not making that mistake again. That 60 dollars I would drop on this, could be used for movie tickets to the movie and dinner with some change to spare!

Gaming journalists?? Ha. Good luck with that then.

Been playing the game for a bit now. Have to say that really impressed with an improvement on ASM. Really solid game. I enjoy the conversations that can have as Peter. That's something that I find to be pretty cool.

The only DLC costume I care about, is the Symbiote one. And that will probably get a proper mod by the community. Here is how the mod looked like for the first game.
I look forward to that, and to the Iron-Spider

Top image looks like a comic book, that's awesome
Second image reminds me of Shattered Dimensions

Having played the game for 111 minutes, I'm pleased to say that it's one of the best Spider-Man games, so far.

It's like ASM and SM2 combined.

I won't get to play this until Friday but I'm looking forward to it. :woot:

love the game so far.. although dissapointed with the suit selection, but the swinging is really good, i could get a good speed going at some points.. it seems really short though.. shorter then the first..

Seconded.

...I am one.

I'm going to third this.

Since when do reviews matter if they are on release day? They don't lol. Are you a spider-man fan?

Quite a bit. You see, the game's industry does have a few set patterns one of which being that early reviews are allowed to us if and only if it exceeds a score the publisher deems worthy to view to the public or if agreed upon in advance due to faith in the product. I've never had a bad scoring early review print and good scores often aren't put under embargo as they'd rather allow us to show it off to the public.

The scores kind of ruin everything, it's another reason I'd rather not be forced to place a label on a product at all.

Edit: Oh, and when you never see a review score on release date the reason is that the publishers do not supply us these products before release day. There is no review copy. We have to go get it. It's generally a sign that they either don't care about the review score, or have very little faith in the product. In the case of movie games, good or bad, they tend not to give it to us, meaning we need time to review it.

To me it's ASM and SM3 combined lol. Web swinging still doesn't even touch the force field that surrounds the SM2 system.

At least not until we can shoot 2 webs at the same damn time. I hate jumping off a web line every.single.time.

It is a bit rickety, you can only make this style of web swinging look so good, because the animations just hinder what looks cool. Feels like there are frames of animation missing from time to time nod it's a bit frustrating from a aesthetical standpoint.

The symbiote suit looks badass too.

Downloaded pre-order DLC and the symbiote suit looks great. It looks like they took it straight out of edge of time. Still trying to figure out on getting the Superior Suit. Graphics on PS4 aren't bad, much more detail and enhancement than TASM 1

Normal Swinging in Spider-Man 2 is still the best system, huh?

Totally Agree ^^

Most of the people who act as if the swinging in SM2 was perfect seem to be running off nostalgia. I got it back out and played it recently and was pretty disappointed. The speed was good but a lot of it was very shaky and frustrating to me.

Can you take some screenshots of the preorder costumes in game?

The worst part of SM2 swinging was how if you touched the ground, most of the time it would stop you swinging. This was fixed in SM3 where if you touched the ground he would just run whilst holding the web and then you'd continue your swing. The way it just stopped in SM2 was so irritating. It meant swinging so low was risky and because of how big the arcs are when swinging you have to go quite high just to be able to not touch the ground sometimes.

The one time I remember Spidey ending his swinging in Spider-Man 2 when touching the ground is in the Mysterio level, with the hot floor of the theater
I didn't play that game enough to remember that detail to a tee about swinging, I know I love it when I run while swinging in Spider-Man 3 and Web of Shadows

Alright, I just bought the game. Found a Steam Key for almost half the price.

This.

I recently played it and it's really not as good as I thought.
People say "OH, THE PHYSICS ARE AMAAAZZEEBALLS!!!". Yeah, I love how when you're on your web, not swinging, just hanging, and then push forward with your joystick and you're magically swinging on your web again. Great physics. :whatever:

Also, the speed blur is very annoying. You can barely see anything. There are far better ways to show how you're moving at great speed.

Sorry to hear that.

Having played even more now, I think this might just be the best Spider-Man game I've ever played.
