So, better luck next game? *sigh* I wish we could get a different developer. I'm kinda tired of Beenox. They've had 4 games to prove that they're the right people for Spider-man and they've all been kinda meh. SD was good but a bit repetitive at times, but I would rather an open world game.

Spider-man deserves better than this... :(

  • Felicia talks to Spider-Man, and he makes his jokes aimed at street thugs, what?
  • The camera during the boss fights is the worst camera in a Spider-Man game as far as I experienced, no exceptions, THE WORST
  • I'm facing the boss, even when there is no one else in the room, and the camera automatically rotates away
  • The Eletro fight reminds me of the fights against Electro in both Ultimate Spider-Man and Web of Shadows (except, you can't toss him when you webstrike him), and the grid at the start of his fight reminds me of the final fight in Enter Electro
  • The fat jokes Spider-Man shoots in Ultimate Spider-Man #012 are funny in the context of that issue, they are repeated so many times here, it was annoying and unfunny, and Sam's delivery of jokes is still not good. The "Just a Skinny Kid" line copied directly from Amazing Spider-Man #246 is a good change of pace in the Kingpin fight
  • I was glad Shocker jumped on high platforms in his second fight, reminds me of the fights against him in Spider-Man 2, only this time it's very watered down and awfully underwhelming
  • To get the third bomb, I HAVE to defeat the Task Force soldiers, but I didn't need to defeat them on ground level, all I had to do was disarm them and get the bomb, and I'd still have enough time to take the bomb, throw in the river, and return

Man, this game is short, really short, I can spend more time playing both PS1 Spidey games from start to finish spending more time, and it's still a buggy game. There was no excuse for having all the bugs, they should have been ironed out

Thankfully I got this game included in with my new PS3 Bundle or else I probably wouldn't have bought it by itself. The fire missions aren't all that bad once you get used to them & can save the people in time but it does suck that you just can't bypass them altogether & progress on in story mode instead you have to start all over again when you die by chasing down the fire engines each time & grabbing onto them when you fail the missions.

Yeah, the game seems to have a lot of problems.
I'm not a huge fan of Sam Riegel's Spider-man, I mean he did an alright job in TASM 1 game.

I really wish we could have an open world Spider-man game with Josh Keaton voicing Spidey. Heck even Rino Romano or Christopher Daniel Barnes or Neil Patrick Harris would be good as well.

Speaking of fire missions, when I finally managed to get the fourth victim out of a burning building I had to go in the other side, I used the web rush to go up and take the guy to the ambulance, but the stupid thing glitched and refused to zip Spidey up for a moment, when it did, it refused to eject the web rush mode, and the event failed

Those four deserve to be chosen again

Here are my suggestions for Webbing! Thoughts? I still need to respond to Tim's comments from my first suggestions!

Webbing

1. Webline – SM2 – I think it’s time to add the traditional form of Spider-man’s webbing. I think Web shoot has become over used and it’s not the primary way Spider-man fires webs. I think it should be a choice but I have always dreamed of being able to fire my webline at anything and anyone. Unfortunately we are limited to automated gameplay that does it for us.(Web pull, various combo moves incorporate weblines automatically). I think that webbing needs to be a separate entity that can be incorporated into combos and used on its own in the environment. Some examples of that are : Infamous 1/2/Son – lightning powers uses R1 and the analog to aim and fire webs. Batman Arkham City – uses L1 to either aim and fire or quickfire gadgets.

2. Targeting System – ASM2 – I noticed that we could actually target opponents in ASM2. I think that’s great but I was disappointed because there was no targeting system dedicated to webbing. As I mentioned above it would be great to target opponents and objects in real time and in quick-fire situations.

3. Web Upgrades – SM2/Shattered - another way to expand the web system is to include better upgrades dedicated to webbing itself. I think Seismic and Iconic were ok upgrades but they aren’t webbing. Here are some examples of web upgrades that I have in mind. Another idea that might break up the flow is having different web shooter settings.

Webline – basic move - Tap to blind

Multi-Webline – this is from SM2. You could fire webs at more than one person at once. If combined with your new targeting system it might be possible to target multiple targets by switching targets and using triangle to toggle from opponent to opponent. EX. Blind Blind Blind Blind.

Web Bullet – formally web shoot. I think tapping it rapidly should produce bullets. Just like in your past games.

Web Yank - SM2 - by pressing triangle and clicking the analog stick up Spidey could through his opponents in the air.

Web Blast – SM2 – Shattered - Spidey can fire a gigantic web blast. I’ve seen this in ASM1 and ASM2 but I think the issue is that it’s automated. I think the trick to making different options work is keeping it simple to understand. In Wos the web bullet upgrade had a web blast at the end of it. I still think that it should be available separately too.

Web Rodeo – SM2/SM3 – by pressing triangle and spinning the analog Spidey could swing is opponents around.

Web Dome – SM1 – this is not a necessary addition but I think it was an interesting addition.

Web Play – I feel like it would be interesting to be able to play around with our webbing to create our own creations or something.

Advanced Web Move(s)

Web Net – I think this should be an advanced web move that requires a lot of webbing and that can trap the opponent on a web net. Instead of it being an automated move I think it should be made manually by firing web lines in random directions and by rapidly pressing triangle.

As much as the game is glitchy and shows slight sings of poor development, I love Spider-man games, and so I love this game. It is just so much fun to swing on buildings, focus on skill levels of skills and suits, and to beat the piss out of some bad guys. In my opinion, the poor development is overshadowed by the enjoyment that comes with the game.

I agree.

I think Beenox was rushed. I have the feeling they only had like 6-8 months to develop this game, and I think they did their best under time constraints.

Yeah.

And the street thugs can't seem to stop commenting on Spidey's physique, either. It's a little... Odd.

Maybe they actually mirin'? :)

I agree completely, you can nit pick all the little details of the game, but at the end of the day it's awesome to just swing around as effing spiderman. I'm even doing a let's play of it on my youtube channel. If anyone wanted to watch it here's the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8bh89IKCdI&list=TLEHLN5S1apbNB79qgesY6qeiexARdWuPm

Thank you for the affirmation. I feel like they have just been getting bagged on.

Off-topic, SpideyK I'm loving your #DaneTrain. Consider me on board! Choo choo!

Awesome.

"Dane Train" is a thing on Twitter actually, so I didn't invent it, myself, though.

I did however, make a few Dane planes, and sent them to him, but I don't think he saw it. :(

No one welcomed me.. I still enjoy this fourm as much as I did before I had an account though haha.

Welcome aboard, connor_parker

How the heck do thugs know Spider-Man is a kid in these two games?

Got the game today and I played it a little bit just to see how the web swinging feels. It takes some time to get used to it. The game itself doesn't look good at all. I wonder how it is even allowed to release a big game like this on PS4 when it looks like this. I will play more tommorow.
