If USM2 happened..... I'd expect it to be based on Death of Spider-Man, the the Miles Morales run so far.

If Shattered Dimensions 2 happened, I want them to go with alternate versions of Spider-Man, but not necessarily versions of Peter Parker from other dimensions/time periods like in the other game (not including Miguel O'Hara). Like maybe have Superior Spider-Man, Ben Reilly, Kaine, Miles maybe.
How about Spider-Girl (Mayday), Spider-Woman (Mary Jane in one of those alt worlds), Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles), and Spider-Man 2211? Whatever that guy's name is

I'd look very much forward to a Shattered Dimensions 2. It's still the best Spidey Beenox game IMO. It has the fun and charm that I want in the next game. And more boss battles like the ones against Hammerhead, Electro etc.

I also preferred the art style in that game. I can't tell you how badly I just wanted to jump down from that building you had to ascend to get to Juggernaut and web swing thru the city below.

SM2 is great, but I have to tie it with SM3.

SM3 improved alot of SM2's flaws, and it STILL has the bet NYC in a spidey game.

Still hasn't been matched.

This, only the players who were kids back then think that SM2 is superior to any Spider-Man game. If you think back it wasn't that great. Sure it was for the time it was released in but it's definitely not now, so stop hyping it like it's the 2nd coming of christ. It's not, it is easily surpassed by Spider-Man 3 and most of the other open world games. Spider-Man 2 didn't even have any proper physics (well it was a PS2 game after all) but yet people keep talking like it had the best of all. Web swinging != physics, and being able to hold down L2 for a boost isn't "physics" either.

Spider-Man 3 on the other hand had somewhat captured that feeling of real world physics to a decent (it looked like Spider-Man actually weighted something and wasn't just some figure glued to a straight web line).

Yeah I totally agree :)

I loved it. It was so vibrant. I loved how the city and visuals really popped. Too bad you didn't get to explore NYC in that game.

Shattered Dimensions would have had a fantastic open-world map.

Colors are fine in this picture
In Juggernaut's stage they are not pleasant imo

I'd love for a free roam game with that exact visual style.

Another plus that game has is the soundtrack IMO.

One thing I don't like about Spider-Man games is that I think that the buildings are always very small. Tall, but thin in comparation to Spider-Man's body. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but that's always my thought.

The Shattered Dimensions city looks like it's buildings are big, I don't know lol

I agree, I've thought about that too!

I'm listening to the soundtrack right now. While most of the tracks sound awfully much the same, I still it's pretty enjoyable and much fitting to the fun vibe of SD. Some nice rythms.

Speaking of the visuals, I think such a game with that look like in that picture is exactly what Spidey needs right now. I'm so sick of the "realistic" looking Spidey games that just make every character look visually boring.

Oh def. The art style they used in SD, at least in that menu pic, the buildings look beautiful. I'd be so down if they brought those visuals back for ASM2.

Edit: I actually really, really enjoyed the color palette that was used to create the night-time city in ASM the movie and was hoping that they would have used those same colors for the game for the night mode.

Yeah and I absolutely LOVE the way Spidey looks as well. The colors are perfect! Just make the villains look sinister and cool instead of goofy and it would be great. I'd like to see a creepy Green Goblin in that visual style. Sounds contradicting perhaps, but I think such a graphic style could be made to look very creepy yet colorful at the same time if you know what I mean.

This is making me want to replay SD. I haven't touched that game in at least a year or more.

Plus they can make the graphics even more detailed and colorful with the power in the next-gen systems.

With next gen, it could be truly beautiful, without the struggle of trying to look realistic all the time :)

I wonder how cel-shading can be improved with next-gen graphics. It's almost perfect right now lol

Good observation
A single story is short compared to crawling Spidey
