One thing I don't like about Spider-Man games is that I think that the buildings are always very small. Tall, but thin in comparation to Spider-Man's body. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but that's always my thought.

The Shattered Dimensions city looks like it's buildings are big, I don't know lol

Ohgod your post reminds me of what I said a year ago. They SERIOUSLY have to rework Spider-Mans body in the next installment. he was WAY TOO BIG in TASM (in comparison to the lizard, it was like they had the same physique wtf?). He should be tiny compared to the lizard (like make the lizard bigger and Spider-Man smaller/thinner).

I seriously hope they get his size right this time or I'll seriously be pissed, that was the first thing I hated about the game (might sound like a cheap reason to hate this game for but if there's one thing that drives me crazy it's when they fail to scale stuff in games, Spider-Man should be the size of a teen and not a buff big guy).

If anything, they need to make other things bigger instead. Lizard was way too small.

A problem I have with all of the Beenox games is that the camera is zoomed out way too much, so all the character look very small. That, and that the characters actually are too small as well. It makes everything feel less exciting and less cinematic.

Too small compared to his movie self, and too monstrous
What happened to the talking reptile man we see in the movie?

The video game version of the Lizard was far better than the movie version, both in terms of size and character.

Why the Lizard serum made Connors a 9 foot tall body builder is completely beyond me. Lizards are small and not particularly buff. Making him so large only made it harder for me to take him seriously. Also, the video game made the right decision in showing that Connors' would lose control of himself after taking the serum. IN the movie Connors and the Lizard were both the same person, making it impossible to view Connors as a good guy.

I know exactly what you mean.

Yes! I've finally figured out a way to work the Sega CD, uh, classic song "Swing Time" into a Marvel Games panel. @DanSlott would be proud.

Okay now it's just too obvious. :o

^Too obvious that they'll announce a Spider-Man game, or are you referring to something specific?

Awesome song by the way

What the hell does "swing time" song hint at?

A remake of that game? Lol

Probably nothing more than a cool Spidey song that plays at the announcement :)

But who knows, hopefully it might hint at a reworked swing system.

That's pretty far fetched (the reworked swing system thing). It's probably only a hint towards a Spider-Man game announcement. Most likely TASM2 (and I hope they listened to the fans and reworked the swinging system + open world gameplay overall, I mean it should be possible with the next gen consoles).

I completely forgot that this game might be next gen. My excitement rose a bit now.

I feel like playing Web of Shadows just to swing a bit
Hope they return the swing kick from that game to this new one

My expectations are way too high already. It's always like that.

I remember "praying" for web swing physics/mechanics with a graphical representation similar to the movie (that the web stretches and isn't always a straight line, that you literally see the force when you reach the lowest point and that when you reach the peak height it slows you down before you eventually dive down).
This could finally be possible with the next generation of consoles, but I doubt that they've had the time to actually come up with something like this. I fear that we'll probably see the same swinging mechanics again or a slightly different one that still does not please most of the gamers.

And I hope they reworked the overall web mechanics. Why can't I use the crosshair used for web rush as my aiming crosshair for web bullets etc.? Next gen consoles could easily handle bodypart related effects (like you shoot a web at a thugs leg = that leg is stuck to the ground and he tries to free himself). They could offer 2 aiming methods, the one everyone is used to (automatic aiming) and the a more rewarding one where we have full control over.

Why do I write essays again? I should just shut up and wait for the announcement... but it doesn't help that I've been waiting for this game ever since I played a few hours of TASM...

I hope Spidey fires regular web instead of web bullets all the time.

A thousand times this. I'd also like to see something similar to the Just Cause 2 grappling hook mechanic where you could target 2 points and "glue" them together. We could create our own webs that way that block e.g. an alley exist so thugs can't run away.

Yeah, I only want to see web bullets as some kind of random mid-combo attack from now on. I don't feel like I'm playing as Spidey at all when he just shoots bullets like a gun all the time.

I'd like to be able to create web traps like that. Arkham Origins has this Just Cause 2 attack by the way.

Another thing I'd like to add is that I want enemy gunfire to be dodgeable. In ASM you have to make this escape move whenever someone fires at you. That doesn't really feel right. I want to be able to dodge bullets Matrix-style (or should I say: Spidey-style).

Also, Spider-Man should be more "in the action" so to speak. I know that there are always stealth elements to Spidey, but I don't want to play as Batman in a Spidey skin. There should definitely be some stealth parts in the game, but only if it makes sense (like hostage situations, heavy armored thugs or alarm systems etc). If there is a regular "empty the room" situation and there are like five or six armed thugs I'd much rather have Spidey face them straight, using his speed, web and agility to take them out with ease.

I mean, in such a situation I think Spidey would even make a joke to attract their attention just for fun, because he still can handle it easily. Spider-Man is very different from Batman in that way.

Beenox copies the Arkham games to the point that I don't feel that I'm Spider-Man. The Arkham games are brilliant because they make you feel like Batman, because their system works for his character. You can't just copy and paste that into a Spider-Man game. The free flow combat fits like a glove for Spidey but they need to taylor it specifically for him. The stealth works for Spidey but is way overused in situations where he could just simply wipe them out without having to avoid their attention.

Why not give his web shooters different settings? Web bullets,Web line,Thick Web(Like Magnum bullet in Infamous 2),Spaghetti web,and why don't we have the ability to make the web cocoon thing that he does in the comics manually? Similar to Batman's gadgets in Arkham games. I think that they always miss the science side of Spidey too. He should come up with devices to defeat Villains or even build new costumes(Ex. Sound Suit with abilities from the comics) to combat them.

Or why can't I fire a web net into an area with the sole purpose of hitting people into it or blocking an exit to make an escape? And I agree with the targeting system that was suggested. Beenox's webs are so stupid. He can only fire in front of himself when you hold it.

I also think that Stealth was very unsatisfying in the previous games. The takedowns were so generic and it felt so automatic. My hopes are low for this new game but I'm in agreement with mostly everyone on here. They need to rework the physics engine, they need to make Spiderman feel more like Spiderman(movement, acrobatics!,double jump, complicated movement that isn't automatic(sommersault into a vault followed by a web line....into a takedown..etc),reworked swing system.

I hope that they surprise me because I did like Shattered Dimensions and Asm had some potential but its funny how after playing them and completing them I never saw any incentive to go back and play because of the flaws of the games. Spiderman 2 and Web of Shadows were awesome. I hope they do it right this time!

I wonder whether they add some kind of MP3 player feature to the game. Spider-Man has a MP3 player build into his suit in TASM2 movie, would be cool if they added something like this too (even though the next gen consoles are supposed to support playing music while gaming).

And with licensed songs a la GTA? That would be cool. Imagine fighting thugs with some up-beat song, as "Nobody Move" --- Hanni El Khatib, or such.

I thought the camera in ASM was rather good. It was zoomed in, nice and tight.

Yes. Or at least have the option to change the web pattern that he fires. Go from bullets to web line and back. Also, it would be neat to have different uses for the webbing such as:

L1 + Triangle = Disarm enemy
L1 + Square = Web enemies face causing blindness or even knock to the ground.
L1 + X = Create a web net to trap enemies
L1 + Circle = Web mutiple enemies at the same time.

Yes! To both of these. How cool an idea is that?! Be able to jam out to some good music while web swinging and fighting crime. I love it!

MP3 player allowing you to choose music stored in the game, sound test, and choose tracks stored in the device?
