The Amazing Spider-Man - $220
what was TASM budget??
$220? I have $300 in my bank account! I could make TASM2!Batman Begins - $150
The Amazing Spider-Man - $220
BB made 370 million of a 150 million budget,Spiderman 1 made 850million of a 130 million budget and that too 3 years ago
Point being,If TASM ends up making say 700ME instead of 900ME as per genuine expectations, even then BB is a bigger dissapointment in terms of box office earnings
$220m.
I've heard movies need to double their budget to break even, so it's yet to make a profit.well that´s not bad 220m and made 400m in 6 days, right?
Well, according to Exhibitor Relations, the movie, so far, has made 141 million in the U.S. and 200 million overseas, bringing the grand total to 341 million so far, overall.
That's very successful for a reboot and with an A- cinemascore, I can only see further profit. At this point, the only way Webb isn't returning is if he doesn't want to, which, I hope, is not the case. I love his vision and with a great script, I feel like him, and Garfield, could deliver the next Dark Knight.
NopeAnd it would be as easy as those as well when guys ranging from Mysterio to Iron Man can disable his spider sense.

It means to make back the money that you spent on the film. A budget accounts for half the money spent. I've never really gotten an explanation of where the other half comes from, though. What exactly does 'Breaking even' mean here?

Basically and according to the interview he did with Capone, he has other things he wants to do but does want to keep making these movies. So he's between a rock and a hard place
No....not one bit. You're looking at where Batman Begins came from after the previous installment was Batman & Robin.
If I was him, I'd finish the trilogy as strong as possible, and, if he can churn out the next Dark Knight, his fame would be so great, he would have no trouble doing these "other projects." Studios would trust him so much, they would practically beg him to do their projects, give him a great budget, and pay him well. Hell, that's most likely what is, and will continue, to happen to Chris Nolan. People know he's profitable and want to work with that. Webb should have no problem with his own projects if he delivers with the next two Spider-Man's.

Yeah Spidey3 wasnt half as bad as B&R but the time between was lesser and thus the dissapointment was still relatively fresher in people's mind
"What about my generous proposal? Are you in... or are you out?"True. But that artistic itch is hard to deal with. Remember, Chris got to do the prestige between batman begins and the dark knight. Marc will probably have the next 3 or 4 months to himself and he's either in or out. I can understand why he's torn.
Batman Begins had less budget though, so I wouldn't call $370 million "pretty poor".

Nope
It would be easier for him to steal Cap's Sheild
*Zipp* webbline yanks away the sheild and sticks it somewhere higher up where he can never reach.Plus you need technology to make devices to block his sense and CapAm is not exactly a Tech Guy like iron man
As for Batman,he may develop a device for that but even if he block it,its still impossible for him.Spidey is 100 times more powerful, flexible, fast and has counless superhuman powers
Anyway discussing that is ridiculous since Batman is from another universe

Eh. It's no more contrived than, "Uh-oh! Somebody's been a bad Lizard..." No one said Spidey's material always has to be comedic gold. It's you who's out gobby, out of your mind
*I always hated that line
Lol it is basically an Ocean's 11 situation for him right now. With Sony/Columbia/Marvel playing the part of Danny Ocean and Marc Webb playing Linus..you're either in, or you're out, right now.
Make a profit. Meaning if I made something for 200 mill, I need it to make at least 400 mill to see a profit but that's not entirely true anymore due to home video. You can almost hit your profit margin in the box office but then clearly surpass it once home video comes out.
By the concept of Ratio,TASM would need to make less than 540million to considered worse than BB boxoffice wise
