UGH! apart from the killer ants please tell me one scene (ONE SCENE) that had to be CG in the new indy movie? rubbish movie.

Exactly..didn't need to be any in it aside from that..well the waterfall scene I guess but even that could've been done with models. Lol thats another movie where the audience was promised one thing and received another

Nuke goes off and fridge is enough to save him. LOLOLOLOL.

I hate, and I really really mean HATE the look of the movie. That strange, glowy look that it has.

So fridge can be used for that purpose ? :wow:

tbh that whole movie was the most hyped garbage.

I've always maintained that there is nothing wrong with CGI inherently. It's an awesome tool without which most Marvel movies could not be made. The biggest problem with CGI is that WE KNOW ABOUT IT. And that tends to put many filmgoers off when they know what they're seeing didn't actually happen. I think filmmakers would do themselves a service by shutting up more and holding more of their cards about how they did it to themselves.

every bone in his body should have been smashed to bits.

if I were giving web advice I would have hired a 7 foot tall basketball player and decked him out in the lizard costume. I would use markers for the tail and eyes and add those CG elements in post preduction.

I would then hire a 5 foot slim but athletic athelete and put him in a scaled to size spidey suit, I would then make the 7 foot guy fight the 5 foot guy and put them in scenes that have been built to scale of the 5 foot guy.

BOOM! instant realistic monster

Anyone else notice that the "scene" enter a slow-mo for a second, when he break the cuffs ? I suspect that is something like raimi's movies. The one thing he did right :P

Like Jurassic Park

Do we know that he didn't do that?

So are they not doing the Peter needs money storyline that gets Uncle Ben killed?

Then there's that one video that shows dozens of clips from shows where the cgi use is strictly in backgrounds and such and no one is the wiser.

Like alcohol, cgi is best when used responsibly. When they use it to cut corners or just use it for the sake of using it, it shows.

And most times when we're seeing a CGI object that is being interacted with inside the film's enviroment these days, there probably actually WAS something real to it that the actors could use. Then it just get's switched out for the CGI whatever in post. But the absolute worst offender at this has to be the Star Wars prequels, where virtually NOTHING was real and the actors largely had to do a mime' job.

there is a scene in SM1 where spidey spins round goblins pumpkin blades (in the burning building) I was stunned when I learned that was CG.:wow:

he know. the lizard is definately CG

I haven't kept up on what news Webb or Sony has released. Did they say he'll be all CGI or did you just come to that conclusion from seeing the trailer?

Best CGI from the whole trilogy.

@Kedrell He's entirely CGI. Sony Imagework/Legacy questionable work of creating realistic creature CGI work confirmed that if we didn't have enough confirmation enough from Rhys himself. :funny:

The prosthetic work was only used in the moments right before his full transformation. When he has a couple of scales and slimmer skin and such.

alright I'm speculating but you'd have to assume if they had a real shot of the lizard they'd had used it.

Still looks spectacular to this day.

Sony Imagwork handling of Spider-Man for the most part has been excellent. That's probably their biggest and best accomplishment.

Best part in the trailer IMO: Spidey trashing the crap out of the SWAT team.

I just LOVE the ridiculous speed with which he moves. Beats the over-usage of slo mo ANYDAY. Really good decision making in going for speed rather than "cool slo mo". In fact, I would prefer them not use slow motion at all in the movie. Even if they do, I hope they dont use it on action scenes, but rather in the more emotional ones (like MJ and the kids falling on each side of the bridge).

It wasn't my favorite part of the trailer but I agree with you that I really dig the way they have filmed the action in some of those scenes.

That was CG? I haven't watched SM1 in a while, but pretty sure I didn't notice either.

I still have a hard time realizing that scene was CG. Well done

hard to swallow, seeing how strange a lot of the effects are in that movie when it comes to Spider-Man's motion

Hm...ya know, I love the whole car quip scene in the new trailer. But now I'm starting wonder...How did Spidey get into the back of a locked car?
