Anyhow, the most recent movie I have watched is Tokyo Godfathers. Great story and very fast paced. Not to mention how great it looked. The director is the same from Millennium Actress which was by far the most confusing anime movie I've ever seen. Please, someone explain to me what the hell happened there. :o

Steamboy is friking awesome with a great story to boot

Patlabor sucked though :down

i loved millenium actress, what was so confusing about it

There's a manga and a book right? I've been meaning to read the manga...

Everything. Maybe, it's just because it's a ""play within a play" movie. I don't know. I was just completely lost. Care to explain?

I dunno. I watched the movie the other day. It had a decent plot and story, but it just wasn't done right. :o It sucked :down

One of my favorite anime movies is Project A-KO

No ****? I think I knew that. The movie had the "play within a play" style which means you can't determine which events happened in her life and which happened in her movies.

I meant Steamboy. :o

They may have come out with a movie manga after the release of the movie, but I've never seen any manga for it.

The manga is just stills from the movie with speech, captions, etc. added.

But I have to say it is one of my favorites is Steamboy. I'm a bit biased though, as I love steampunk.

I just watched Pom Poko. It's good, but goes for waaaaaaaay too long.

All I've seen of anime movies were mostly Hayao Miyazaki's films. I want to start watching non-Hayao anime movies. Any recommendations?

You might as well go to the other end of the spectrum and watch Akira.

Ghost in the Shell
Escaflowne
Macross

I've been meaning to watch Escaflowne, and The Visions of Escaflowne series, too. What are they like?

What the hell was Metropolis about? I watched it twice and am still confused. City hunter film and cowboy bebop movies were well done.

The Escaflowne movie is good and the OST is one of the best. It's part fantsy part mech. Loser girl gets magically placed on another planet to become the Wing Goddess. Falls in love, saves their world, goes back home. It's worth it though

^ But for a movie more similar to Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, or Howl's Moving Castle etc. you should try Steamboy*. It's not as dark as Akira. Actually, it's not dark at all. Which Miyazaki films have you watched by the way, Lex?

*Just recently found out that it's the most expensive animated movie made. Interesting.
