...you know, I thought The Core was the stupidest, most filled with rediculous psuedo-science movie that could ever be made. The I saw a trailer about a movie involving a team of people flying into space to recharge the sun, and I knew I was wrong. But surely, nothing could be worse than that, correct? Wrong. There is a movie about a farmer who builds a working rocket ship out of spare parts and launches himself into space. There are so many things that are ******ed about this entire concept that it hurts my head to think about them all...

Isn't the movie based on a true story

"On September 9, 1982, Toddie Lee Wynne, owner of the southern 11,500 acres and Space Services Inc. of America, a Houston-based operation determined to prove that private enterprise had the ability to do business in outer space, launched a rocket from Matagorda Island. It went up 195 miles up carrying a 1000 lb. mock payload before arcing down to splash into the Gulf of Mexico 10.5 minutes later."

The stupid part is the forced WMD joke in EVERY trailer. :whatever:

I bet the cast & crew were high-fiving when they filmed that scene - LAME

Yes. It thinks it's a clever barb at Bush, but it's actually ******ed, because WMD's are real and being a WMD isn't what made them impossible to find in Iraq. It was just the fact that there weren't many there and the ones they did have were moved to Syria right before the invasion. :o
His rocket could easily be a WMD, and if it was, it would be very easy to locate, since, the whole town is debating whether or not to allow it's launch.

Very crap-writing.

It matters not. The movie looks like one of those old boring turds from the 80's. I'll never have to watch it. :)

If there all in Syria then why the hell is the US in Iraq? Movie looks ok not great but ok.

Until I am proven wrong. This is single handedly the worst idea for a movie ever. It is so simplistic, & boring looking. I can't believe this is actually a movie!

Has hollywood really run out of ideas. I mean if you are trying to sell a movie about a farmer that builds a rocket ship to go out to space. On top of that trying to make it look interesting. It is just stupid, stupid, stupid.

Yeah, I'll pass on this one. Thanks anyway.

the title of the film itself is enough to show everyone just how stupid and ridiculous this film is

Pure cheesefest garbage. Although i do enjoy Virgina Madsen, atleast i can enjoy her in The Number 23.

I agree with you on how stupid the astronaut farmer looks, but I think Sunshine looks very good.

Anyone seen this movie yet? I thought about seeing it,but wasn't in the mood to. I wont say its going to be stupid just cause of the premise or name;never judge a book by its cover...
Please post what ya think of it if anyone sees it.

Please post what ya think of it if anyone sees it. Far as the 'sunshine' movie,ya I thought of 'the core' when I heard the premise. Then when I saw trailer I thought of 'event horizon'. I will still check it out though..

wow... so, hollywood makes a sequel = out of ideas... hollywood makes a remake = out of ideas... hollywood does an adaptation of a book/comic = out of ideas... hollywood makes an original movie = out of ideas.

those guys just can't catch a break, can they?

:whatever:

The Core was so bad. But not as bad as Mission to Mars.
