There is a good chance that a video game for the movie will come out.
what are some things you would like to see in this game? Who would you like to see working on it?
I hope that SEGA stays the hell away from this project.
After seeing Thor I am not to happy. :l

Perhaps the title of the thread should be "The Avengers Video Game....will suck"
:)

If a more talented and committed game studio makes this, it will be mindblowing.

But SEGA will probably do it so...FAIL

I'd rather they just release the Captain America and the Avengers arcade on XBL and PSN.

Unless its made by the same people that made the Captain America game, or if THQ did infact take over, I have zero hope for this.

I love it when these discussions start up, well if Sega makes it it'll suck, like it matters what company makes it. The reason the large majority of tie-in games suck is because the developers aren't given enough time to create it. A movie takes significantly less time to complete than a video game, however, to cash in on the property while it's hot the video games development cycle is cut short. They don't have time to create game new gameplay or test it fully. Rockstar or Miyamoto could make this game and it still would be underwhelming or outright suck because the time to make it great wouldn't be given to the developer.

Cap's game didn't suck.

But like I said, I rather they just release the arcade game on XBL and PSN. I'd rather play that game than any rushed game SEGA or whoever pumps out that will most likely suck.

Notice I said majority, not all

Yeah I know, there have been a couple that have been good.

Treyarch did a great job creating movie tie-in games with Spidey; and Raven did a great job creating the X-Men RPGs to coincide with the release of the early films. (Yeah, technically the X-Men Legends games weren't tie-ins, but they were kindasorta commissioned by Marvel to be released at the same time as the films). And of course, Raven did an excellent job with Ultimate Alliance.

That's what I hope the Avengers game would be --- an RPG in the vein of Ultimate Alliance, but with more advanced graphics than the outdated cel-shading. Something that looks like City of Heroes or DC Universe Online, grafix-wise.

Just dont let Sega make it and give it the basic design/control as the X-Men Legends game and it can be awesome.

Easy Roster:
-Iron Man
-Cap
-Thor
-Hulk
-Hawkeye
-Black Widow
-Culson
-Maria Hill
-War Machine

I wouldn't put Ant-Man, Wasp, etc... in, cause might as well wait for them to get the big screen treatment before you put them in the games, maybe as un lockables.

Make it like the Fantastic Four: Rise of Silver Surfer game, except sucky, way, way less sucky. That game had some good ideas and looked good(for it's time), you didn't have to squint your eyes to see who you were playing like the MUA games and camera was behind the player, not over the head, problem was, the execution was bad.

Start the game off as the Big Four (Cap, Thor, IM and Hulk) then as you progress, unlock Hawkeye and Black Widow. Finish the game, unlock Nick Fury.

Does anyone have that concept art that was posted a couple months ago?

Fantastic Four tried this, Activision (not Sega) used the same basic design as X-Men Legends, the game sucked because unlike X-Men Legends, it was rushed through development.

Really? What X-Men movies came out in 2004 and 2005? The costumes were somewhat inspired by the movies, but that's where the similarities end.

Costumes were mainly inspired by the ultimate comics.

My thoughts exactly, except Coulson. Seems like he would die immediately. :oldrazz:

I have no interest at all in The Avengers game. Its a movie game so it is more then likely destined to suck, and having SEGA making it is not doing it any favors. Also, with all the Marvel crossover games out there its hard to really give a **** considering we have so many already.

You People have no faith at all :( I think it would be great if they could make a good movie tie in game or even just a avengers game and be able to play with the main characters

apparently TQH had a game almost finished and then scrapped it, now the rights for a video game have returned to Marvel.

check out this awesome footage.

I have to say finally getting around to Cap on SEGA -- it's not that bad. The Hulk game was alright as well. Haven't played Thor... maybe it's just Iron Man that kinda blows lol, but that seems to have the same faults as Superman games - near impossible to control.
