Avengers 1 : Loki/alien gang/thanos intro
Avengers 2 : Thanos with Local villains as his minions/Ultron intro
Avengers 3 : Ultron/and even though he isnt a villain, intro captain marvel

I wonder why people want Thanos to be the main villain in Avengers 2 and Ultron the villain in Avengers 3?

Isn't that a "step down", because I'm pretty sure Thanos is a much larger threat than Ultron.

I want Thanos as a re-occuring threat. Like the Darth Vader of the Marvel films. Maybe even showing up in Thor 2.

I don't know, I'd rather see Thanos as a lingering force in the background until it's time for him to be the main villain.

I'd hate to see him appear in several films only to be stopped each time, that would make him seem very ineffective.

i'd like ultron to be introduced as a force for good before getting corrupted, more than one movie please
:)

well IF they use Thanos, he should be built up over the course of a few films. Not unlike the Emperor or Lord Voldemort...

1st movie - Loki all day, Thanos in background. City apocalypse, classic NYC street battle, against Loki's hordes/minions while setting up origin story as best they can.

2nd movie - Then they go full space opera sci-fi with Thanos with Kree/Skrull. Hello? Infinity Gauntlet at Comic Con. It's coming.

After that, not sure. Ultron deserves own movie but then again look at what they did to Destroyer. Unstoppable bad ass, and Thor knocks him out with one swipe.

Actually Thor reversed The Destroyer's own energy beam back into his body, which is more of Thor using it's power against it rather than actually overpowering it

Branagh mentioned pacing issues for that. But if ultron had his own movie or two, im sure hel be fully powered

A potential problem with Ultron is he can easily become a dummy villain (unstoppable, but dummy nonetheless ) with zero depth like The Destroyer unless they flesh out Hank Pym's story. If he is a dummy villain, then they need a kick ass extended fight spectacle like Abomination in TIH ....this is what they should've done with Destroyer in Thor.

The Pym brain patterns and whole father-son dynamic is what Ultron is really all about, not sure if they have enough time to do that in Avengers. I imagine thats why many people suggest Ant-Man is proper vehicle.

Robots villains can be tough sell, unless give Hal 9000 or Terminator or Vader like depth.

Isnt it already confirmed who the main villian in the Avengers is going to be? By the looks of the leaked pictures it seems its the Skrulls and problaby Loki had something to do with it.

Sorry if its already stated. I didn't read the entire thread.

Film 1: Loki/ Thanos army and Thanos in the end
Film 2: Ultron
Film 3: Kang

I sincerelly think that having Loki as the main villain in The Avengers is a step down for the first ensemble movie

Can the Destroyer armour come back? I think it was weakly portrayed in the movie. How many times in the comics has Thor beaten the Destroyer? In his first movie he beats like beating the Wrecking Crew. I hope it comes back and is worn by Odin.

The Destroyer fight scene was short because of pacing issues, plus the main point of that scene was to show Thor regaining his powers (not to be a spectacle).

I watched thor again today and i must say that the destroyer looks huge, threatening, imposing, dangerous, and awesome. They did an excellent job with him.

I agree, I hope The Destroyer returns at some point in one of Thor's sequels.

The one thing that I'm hoping right now is that Loki's army aren't presented as being mindless and stereotypical villains, while all behaving in a similar manner.

Granted, I'm not asking for a ensemble villainous team in the film, I hope that some of villains that make up the army have some life/personality to them and such..heck, I'd hope to see Loki's army has generals and captains that he interacts with specifically to carry out his plans and such. Some diversity won't hurt.

I voted Kang but here are some cool Thanos pics none-the-less

Not that I can change anything at this point but...

I like Loki, dude is an amazing bad guy, but I think one movie franchise where he is the main threat is enough.

I mean we gotta move on, branch out to new, more epic ideas.

Welcome to the hype, tempt.
So you're saying you disagree with the decision to have Loki be the main villain in the Avengers? If it wasn't for the fact that Loki was the original villain that brought the Avengers together I might agree with you. But Tom Hiddleston played him so well that I'm uber pumped to see him on screen again, this time more savage, evil and maniacal.

Thanks boss. I'm not disappointed at Loki being in the movie, but I hope we don't get too much of something we've already seen, if you catch my drift.

Plus, how can Loki be considered a Thor level threat now when we have all the super-hero heavies needing to work together to defeat him?

I completely understand that but I don't think you need to worry about it haha. In Thor, Loki was pretty tame up until the end when we really saw him as the villain he really is. In the Avengers he'll probably be just as villainous, only cranked up to 11. I'm excited to see what he's got up his sleeve.

Well, I don't know how much you know about what exactly will be in the film, but apparently...
Loki won't be alone :woot: People are theorizing either Skrulls, or Thanos or something along those lines. We do know that he has an army of some sort. Sooo, we'll see.

Makes sense, however, I'm not a fan of many of Thor's rogues gallery, probably why I'm not an advocate of most Thor stories. If it were up to me, I'd put Loki's 11 gage in Thor's sequel to make up for a lack of interesting bad guys.

Enchantress not withstanding.

:D Man it does sound crazy, but I guess I am not as excited by the Skrull invasion as most people.

Thanos, though, is appealing, but I always thought of him as a nihilist, somone who prefers to work alone, due to him wanting to murder all life in existance and everything.

And as long as this 'army' is creatively and originally executed, I could live with that.

I heard Thanos gives Loki his army in exchange for the Infinity gauntlet. Don't be surprised if you see Thanos.

That's the first time I've heard someone say Thor doesn't have intersting villains because most people seem to think Thor has as very impressive rogues gallery (whether they're Thor fans or not).

However that is your opinion and you're perfectly entitled to it, so welcome aboard. :word:
