Dude! That would be so mind blowing. :wow: Just imagining the chemistry these two would have on screen...
That's what i mean! In that case i think they could mix the personalities of all the Flash's and maybe John Stewart has a slight element of Hal Jordan in him somewhere too.

I can see the buddy cop chemistry. Dwayne being annoyed with Aaron then when they're together in battle, they get s**t done! Which develops a respect for one another even if they get under the others skin. It would elevate the characters by casting these two. You mix them with Cavill, Affleck & Gadot as the Trinity..and you have one hell of a Justice League lineup.

I have nothing against Grant Gustin, and really like his portrayal of Barry, but I think it's best to let the Arrow universe be separate. I think it'd be cool if the JL was mentioned but not seen on Arrow though.

this

i can't quite see the TV universe blend in w/ the films

Just the visual thoughts of him and Dwayne being Flash and GL along with the other members sound so incredibly epic.

He could be like a Keaton I guess. But Keaton was headlining major movies before he was cast as Batman. He was met with negativity because he was mainly known for headlining comedy movies.

Gallagher is known for being a supporting player on 7th Heaven when he was a child. If he headlined some comedy movies, I think that there would be better reception to him. Instead, he's just known for 7th Heaven.
David Gallagher doesn't need a 100% identical career as Keaton in the pre-Batman days for a similar thing to happen again: first some negativity, then the complaints could be silenced when the first pic of "actor in suit" is released.
But for that to happen, I think the film also need a director with a great visual eye, someone who would create such an impressive suit that could symbolize THE "cinematic Flash" and affect every future live action version to come.
I think that guy should be Baz Lurhmann. He will be the best when it comes to creating something visually unique. Even better than Zemeckis.
Ryan Gosling and Aaron Paul would be my preferences for Barry, but I don't think Gosling as Flash is realistic, he's too big for that now.
The fact that Rian Johnson (my choice for Flash director) and JGL are currently my favorite artistic pairing movie-wise (Brick and Looper), makes the John Blake thing sting even more. JGL would've been too perfect as Barry Allen in a Rian Johnson directed Flash movie.
First you state Gosling is too famous to be Flash. Then you express your wish for Gordon-Levitt to play the role. I don't quite follow your logic there
If Nolan directed the Justice League after The Dark Knight and not The Dark Knight Rises:

Superman: Hugh Jackman
Batman: Christian Bale
Wonder Woman: Marion Cotillard
Green Lantern: Tom Hardy
The Flash: Joseph Gordon Levitt
Aquaman: Leonardo DiCaprio
Martian Manhunter: David Bowie
Praise to you! This is how Justice League should be cast. The DC characters need to be played by known actors. I would make a change though, and have Gyllenhaal as Lantern. Or perhaps Gordon-Levitt, instead of him playing Flash.

And Rorschach2012: The Pacific is a TV series about WWII. Spielberg was involved as a producer. Haven't you heard about it?

I guess more importantly here is...Do people want Barry Allen to look like a High School Jock/Popular Dude that is conveniently intelligent? Or do they want someone who's a bit more slim or mild mannered looking like how Andrew Garfield and grant look?

Based on the weird casting we've gotten so far, I'm not expecting Barry to look like his comic counterpart much. They'll cast someone out of the box.

Weird casting? Gal Gadot looks like WW to me (face wise), Ben Affleck looks like Bruce Wayne and Jeremy Irons looks like Alfred. The only one that doesn't already look like his comic counterpart is Eisenberg, although we still don't know how he'll end up looking in the movie. There are some convincing manips of him already.

I see Barry and John having a relationship similar to Gimli and Legolas

I really want Aaron Paul for Flash with Dwayne Johnson playing Green Lantern. I just think that could be the ultimate pairing. It would bring crazy Breaking Bad, Fast and the Furious and WWE fans over to the franchise too.

Love it.

I guess your right! But the suit would have to look pretty damn great, since he doesn't look the way I'd imagine Barry to look.
But for that to happen, I think the film also need a director with a great visual eye, someone who would create such an impressive suit that could symbolize THE "cinematic Flash" and affect every future live action version to come.
Agreed with this. A Flash movie ideally would be somewhat lighthearted, I'm thinking that the first two Raimi Spider-Man films wouldn't be bad for influence.

Zemeckis could better capture the joyful moments that should be existant in a Flash movie. There were moments in the first two Raimi Spider-Man films and the original two Superman films that just made you feel warm and fuzzy. I realize that Flash will probably be a bit Nolan-ized, but I hope the Flash movie injects some joy into the movie. I pretty much agree that MOS was joyless. Good movie though. Just no joy.

Nah you don't understand. Ryan Gosling or Joseph Gordon Levitt would be fantastic choices for Flash. But I think Ryan Gosling wouldn't take it because he's so famous now, and has (in his mind) better things to do.

JGL would make a great Flash, but since he's Robin John Blake, the chances of that happening are pretty slim. I'd be so happy if either of them were cast though.

Gordon Levitt could work as Hal, going off his performance in Don Jon. Also, Gyllenhaal is probably my favorite choice for Hal at the moment... Prisoners was my favorite movie this year, I'm dying to see how Gyllenhaal would handle a DC role...

Hugh Jackman would be awesome in the DCU as well, but....

Rorschach2012: You know you're supposed to defend my actor suggestions for Flash, don't you? Then some people in charge at Warner Brothers might read the post and seriously consider Gallagher or Mazzello for the role. :cwink:

I'm hoping for Gyllenhaal as well.

Hugh Jackman?! Holly fried beans, imagine him as a DC hero. It blows my brain out :word:

Zemeckis might be better for the tone, but for the visuals: Lurhmann is no 1.

Not sure if I want to feel warm and fuzzy when watching live action Flash, though. I want overblown action and a dramatic story

For Hal Jordan? If they want lesser knowns that are on the verge of becoming really popular, three names come to mind.

Jamie Dornan

Richard Madden

Tom Mison

I like Jamie Dornan but isn't he the lead in that 50 Shades of Grey?

Yeah.

But he's actually a good actor. Better acting than Cavill and Gadot from what I've seen.

His performance in BBC's "The Fall" is really good.

Due to violent content and mature language I can't link clips here, but there are a lot on Youtube.

Even Gosling had to start with "The Notebook" before becoming big.

Sweet. Well I'd be for it but would the "Christian Grey is Green Lantern!" prevent people from seeing it you think?
