No not Marvel.

Fox.

I still don't think that Fantastic Four movie will happen. It will get cancelled. Marvel should get the Fantastic Four rights back.

That would be a best case scenario for all parties really.

It would save Fox wasting money on characters they clearly don't know how to handle and from the sounds of early news will completely screw up once again.

It'll save the fans from being once more dissapointed.

And it'll give the MCCU the F4 back plus their incredible supporting cast. Dr. Doom, Blackbolt, Namor, Galactus, Silver Surfer, Skrulls etc.

Man, I would absolutely love to see what Marvel could do with at least Dr. Doom - what an awesome villain. I'd only be into Silver Surfer if he was played by Joe Satriani ;)

Anyway, back on topic. Those pics I made of Aaron Paul were done on request - I think Paul is far too weird looking to play a typical super hero. I think he'd be best as a side-kick, if anything - there are a few pictures of him as Robin that I've seen and liked. I hate to typecast, but Paul is kind of an ultimate sidekick character actor - I'd take him as Robin, or Eddie Dean, and I loved him as Jesse (obviously). But as someone like the Flash? No thanks.

For Flash, I think it would be hard to beat the following 3 guys: Ryan Kwanten, Chris Pine, or Ryan Gosling. Given that Gosling would almost never accept the role, that leaves Chris Pine and Kwanten. Chris Pine would be great for the action and charismatic for the role, but the guy I want to see is Kwanten. He's the sort of guy I think that wouldn't look down his nose at playing The Flash- he's hungry for good roles, and I think he'd nail it and have a lot of fun that the audience could resonate with. I'm personally not a huge Flash fan by any stretch (I've never read a single Flash standalone comic), but if I heard Kwanten were cast, that would get me really amped up.

Here's my take of Kwanten in the costume:

Pretty epic to me. Easy to see Chris Pine in it too, but Kwanten is the one that would get me excited. He's just always fun to watch.

the manip is awesome!!!!! :hubba
But What about him in acting?

I would like to see someone with Japanese decent to play the Flash...

Random idea:

How 'bout Scott Eastwood? I have no clue about his acting skills but he has a look about him.

Give him 10 years and he'd make an awesome Roland Deschain.

Very appropriate. I should probably read/listen to those books...

Reading the series you get to realise just how much of a daunting task it would be for someone to adapt it for film or TV.

But oh man is it an epic read.

Wise - love it in book form, agreed that it's "daunting" at the least. Makes Watchmen look like a paint-by-numbers project.

One thing worth considering is that, with the way the book ends, the makers of the adaptation could have a REALLY good excuse to seriously take some liberties, so long as the spirit and some very specific rules are very faithfully stuck to. I've always thought that a "New Game+" approach to adapting the material would be epic... and probably the only way to make it work. Whoever doing it is going to have to take the process as seriously as the characters take their quest...

That Kwanten manip is AWESOME. One of the best I've ever seen. I've always thought he'd be good for the role too. He's charismatic and ultra-ripped.

Also yeah... Doom needs to be a Marvel property. I couldn't care less about the Fantastic Four but Doom belongs in the Marvel Universe and shouldn't be wasting away in the hands of Fox.

I could kind of dig that. I like the kid for some reason....I've seen him in a couple things and followed him in real life a bit. He was in Flags Of Our Fathers I think....?

That Kwanten manip is a really nice Flash costume design  I'd shrink the logo a little bit though

Excellent casting call. Him at 45, very lean is like the perfect Roland.

Really? I think Roland, for most of the story, is supposed to look significantly order. He ages a lot between Gunslinger and Drawing if the Three...

Can he act though? Not saying he can't; I just haven't seen him in anything.

I still say they should go after Jackman. He looks the part, he's the perfect age, and he's a box office draw... something that is probably necessary because The Dark Tower is such an obscure story that they'll need every bit of help they can get to turn a profit.

I have to say that I'm pleased that I pleased you! I think he's been in a few of Clint's more recent films (Gran Torino, Trouble with the Curve in addition to Flags).

Yeah, I have no clue about that. I just stumbled across his IMDb page and it popped in my head. Clint does have a strong relationship with WB and I'm sure they'd love to make a star out of him. That is really all conjecture on my part, I have no idea if any of that would really factor into casting him at all -- we just have nothing else to talk about...:o

I still want Jensen Ackles in this universe, preferably either the Flash or Green Lantern.

Haha I'm not so hard to please. ;) My wants are simple. Lol. And yeah I saw him in Gran Torino too, he had a small part...played Clint's neighbor's daughter's boyfriend (that's a mouthful!) in the early part of the film...Clint chewed him out in one scene and called him a *****. Lol. But I could maybe see him as Flash. I think he's a pretty decent actor for the most part and has lots of potential.... I could also see him as Hal Jordan too incidentally.
