The batmobile chase scene in BvS or the Tumbler chase scene in Begins?

Which chase scene is better?

  • The BVS batmobile chase

  • The Begins tumbler chase

I can't begin to explain how dumb Batmobile dragging around the vehicle is. Apparently Batman can see into the future. He knew that one of the goon's vehicle would stop at the exact place where Batman can somehow defy physics and bounce off the dragging vehicle on top of it.

I am actually one of the few who likes the BvS chase, I don't think it's as useless or pointless as many make out either.

But Begins still wins this, it's a great chase scene and The Tumbler is just awesome.

This isn't even worth the effort of voting. Lets just call it now - BvS will lose just about every 'vs' battle you pit it against. Waste of forum space.

Except for worst movie of 2016. It's winning that poll :funny:

The "best" scene from BvS can't even beat the Netflix Daredevil scene in another SHH thread..

^ Both that and the Bane fights. Fancier choreography in a fight scene doesn't matter a whit to me when the context and drama around it isn't worth while.

I dunno about the Bane fight. Personally, hand to hand fights didn't seem like Nolan's specialty. Or at least the choreographer.

I've not once cared about slowed down, repetitive GIFS trying to show me that the actors aren't REALLY hitting each other. You'll find that in virtually every movie and TV show. I rate those fights as better by far.

Warehouse was good, unless you aren't a fan of Batman blatantly killing.

But the title fight of Batman vs Superman suffered from what you said.

The whole fight I was questioning why the fight was even happening? Why Superman gave up trying to explain his situation until bringing it back up moments before nearly dying. Plus the whole Martha scene was a really strange conclusion. Takes you out of the movie.

All Nolans hand to hand fights were atrocious. There's no denying that really.

But they weren't superfluous and they made context with the story.

The Batmobile sequence in BvS was stupid on all levels. Why did there even need to be a chase? Batman put a tracker on the truck with the purpose of finding out where it was going and who it was going too. He then decides to kill a load of guys and causing destruction pursuing it? Is this Batman genuinely brain damaged.

Then to add to that, what the hell was Superman doing all this time? Was he watching all this death and destruction from the sky waiting for an opportunity to make a bad ass entrance?

It just wasn't thought out. Snyder wanted a cool and badass Batmobile sequence and a cool first confrontation between Supes and Bats... with an uncharacteristic bravado boast/threat from Superman. Story telling and characterisation be damned.

^ Have to agree with everything you said there. The Tumbler chase scene made far more sense and was executed perfectly. It was thought out: Batman was a new presence that the police force wanted to take down, Rachel was in danger, etc. All the chips were in the right place.

With BvS, the batmobile chase was just another example of Snyder's "style over substance" execution with movies. A very clear one at that.

Compare this to Cap and Bucky hand to hand fights in the Winter Soldiers. They look like two drunk Uncles fighing in the stands at a football game.

Can't wait to see Batman and Deathstroke got at it :hmr:

The chase scene in Batman Begins had a clear purpose and it made more sense, but the chase scene in BvS was more exciting and fun to watch (in my opinion).

I'll vote for BvS, I'm sure it could use the extra point.
