Drama The Bear (HULU/FX)

I’m only through episode 5 but episode 4 is my favorite so far. It was just beautifully shot and acted. Still can’t stand Sidney.

But yes to REM. Their music needs a comeback.

Also, seeing /reddit not feeling the Claire+Carmy aspect of s2...

...which I don't get. The way this show presents knowing when you maybe don't have time for (or feel you don't deserve) a relationship... no matter how enamored you are. Let alone the quiet awkwardness of trying to expand yourself, be protective, yet go full-crush mode.

Honestly think both actors/writers/directors are doing some of the best meet-cute and new relationship vibes since Beginners...

...outside of;

Little Women
Emma

Mark, Mary + Some Other People

I thought for a while the Carmy+Claire relationship felt too saccharine even though I liked Molly Gordon's performance, but it all made sense when you get to the last episode.

It's hitting me hard, because it… feels real. Their interactions have happened in my life. Not everything is a perfect romcom, the simplicity of him stating he just wants to talk to her - he doesn't talk to anyone, not even Sugar.

It's only been food/BEEF/now BEAR.

The mundane aspect of a cute date turning into a simple drive to a suburb to complete a task - love it.

Another fantastic season overall, but my god was I not ready for episode 6. It honestly felt like something straight out of Succession in terms of the raw intensity of it and that's probably why I loved it so much.

I just love they incorporate so many big name actors in this show and this season especially had quite a few cameos, but it never felt distracting IMO or like it took away from anything.

I hope this show absolutely cleans up at the Emmy's next year.

I'm not even done with the season yet but just popping in to say I just watched episode 6....

Episode 7 was astonishing, episode 8 was delightful, and 9… woah. Saving the finale for tomorrow.

Richie’s glow up, baby.

HALF A WORLD AWAY needle drop to finish out…

[carmy problems]

****, that finale… this season. No one is doing it like they’re doing it.

THE BEAR just best succession in game 7 with 3 ots with the sickest backhand goal of all time.

Also lock JLC up for that Emmy with that scene outside of the restaurant.

I haven’t cried with so much joy, laughs, heartbreak… and sadness since the finale of Mr. Robot.

Also, this show did the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK this season better than anyone who’s ever tried in film or in television.

Me after watching episode 10:

I thought that overall the first season was a little better but this was still great. S2 Episode 6 might be the best one of the series so far. I hope there's a chance we see Season 3 next year.

I need this embroidered;

I don’t need to provide any amusement or enjoyment.
I don’t need to receive any amusement or enjoyment.
I’m completely fine with that.
Because no amount of good is worth how terrible this feels.
It’s just a complete waste of ****ing time.

I thought S2 was better overall but the finale of S1 was better.
That ended perfectly with a shot of Michael smiling back and a sense of optimism. The S2 finale was good but just brutal to my feelings.

I’m not great at ranking individual episodes, but eps 4, 6, and 7 were the best with possibly 7 being my fave. Richie’s redemption left me teary eyed.

Alright I'm on episode 5 rn, haven't read any messages here, show's obviously great. The camera work Jesus H CHRIST is so goddamn good

Just here to say that as the dude who's always sober at parties, the party scene is the most real goddamn scene I've seen in months. Absolutely pin point perfect of what that ****'s like lmao

Also yeah if episode 6 was meant to be their attempt at season 2's "episode 7", they succeeded

Jesus Christ I needed a rest break after lmao

+1

I thought how they portrayed the idea of a workaholic trying to be happy in this way was just...spot on, genuinely perfect.

(Finale spoilers)
The fridge door might genuinely be the best use of Chekhov's gun I've seen in a while
