That's gotta be something going on between them in season 3.

Not sure what more could be said about this amazing show!

When Season 1 came out, I watched the entire season in one afternoon. Needless to say, I did the exact same thing for Season 2! So glad they dived into the lives of these amazing characters outside the restaurant a bit more this time. Having been in this industry myself for a number of years now, they nail so much regarding the stresses and passions it takes to be in the hospitality industry.

Episode 6...holy yish! But Episode 7 is by far my favorite. Seeing Richie coming full circle was amazing and I must've watched that episode 3 times now. And how did I not see that he was racing to Pequod's for the deep dish the first time?!

I was fortunate enough to take a cross country trip with my boys last year and we stopped in Chicago (my 1st time there) and were told Pequod's was THE BEST deep dish to get. Have to say, I found it hard to dispute!

Just binged this entire show over the past week. SO GOOD. My God, this show is just a masterclass in terms of acting, character development, storytelling, needle drops… it’s the whole package. I just wish I had watched it a month ago because I was in Chicago for work and I didn’t know about Pequod’s. I’ll have to go there for deep dish next time (Lou Malnati’s is also very good though!).

Hot damn, the guest stars were amazing in the second season. Jamie Lee had BETTER win an Emmy because she was phenomenal. Also loved how much they developed the main cast as well. Richie’s growth as a character was probably my favorite.

Bring on season 3.

Popped in to say I just binged the show the last two days and my God was it awesome. I've been lucky enough to go to Pequods and it was hands down the best Deep Dish I've ever had. When I worked as a bellman at a resort I chatted up a family from Chicago as I delivered their luggage and they mentioned it, I knew if a local told me about a place I had to go and was 100% glad I made it a mission to go.

Keep hearing good things about this so gonna give it a go!!!

It was that good I just binged The Bear in two days. What a show it is, loved it. The characters, the world and the way they got the stress levels and fast pace nature of Hospitality down to a tee.

End of Episode 7 of Season 1 gave me PTSD flashbacks anyone that's worked in hospitality has had nightmare shifts like that!!!

Richie's character arc and grown and his episode in Season Two made me feel so proud of how far he come.

Also the use of Refused's New Noise was awesome, I love that tune!!!

Love everyone called Cousin even if they aren't related

Community alumni appearing is fun too, who's next for season 3?!

What you Guys think?

Who's your fave characters?

Well, the Bear 2x6 was completely depressing. Worst Christmas dinner ever. :(

If it makes you feel any better the next episode is the most feel good episode of the series.
Kane is correct. The next episode is wonderful and the needed pick me up after Seven Fishes.

ROMEO SAVE ME, THEY'RE TRYING TO TELL ME HOW TO FEEL
THIS LOVE IS DIFFICULT, BUT IT'S RE-EAL

(best episode I don't care)
Richie singing in the car is one of the first images that pop into my head when I think of season 2.

Yes, 2x7 was a less heartbreaking episode even though I'm not a fan of Ritchie. He's much too abrasive for me to like. :(

That raises a good question... what is everyone's go-to white girl song that you've come around to & start singing in your car unironically like Richie?

For me it's Lights. :o

Keep watching. His season 2 arc is one of the best on the show and he really takes to heart Chef Terry's lesson about it never being too late to start over. He is a diamond in the rough with a real heart of gold.

Ritchie was my least favorite character until 2x7 and he turned into one of my favorite characters after. Really extraordinary episode that completely transformed his entire character.

Just finished and yeah, he really stepped up. :)

I wouldn't say that Ritchie's character transformed entirely, but moreso our perception of him. Ritchie's strengths and virtues were always there for us to see, but they were obscured by the dark space and setbacks he had experienced. A lot of what made him a problematic character in season 1 was the result of a misplaced sense of love and loyalty for Michael. He was trying to preserve how Michael did everything as almost a memorial to him. Storer did a great job of foreshadowing his potential throughout the first season. For instance, when he confided to Sydney about the caulking in the car and how much he hated that he had let the Berzattos down. Or what a good, loving father he was.

Once he found a direction and purpose for his loyalty, it was clear that he was going to rebound. My favourite Ritchie moment of the season was not Forks or him running the expediting or the chocolate banana, but rather
how he approached the fight with Carmy in the walk-in. Carmy lashed out and insulted Ritchie in everyway possible, but instead Ritchie just kept yelling that he loved him. A lesser show would use that moment to create an irreparable break in the characters' new relationship. But instead Ritchie realized that Carmy was just lashing out and didn't really mean any of what he said, so he just responded by telling Carmy that he loved him.

Chef YouTuberm Joshua Weissman finally covered how to make a Chicago Italian Beef sandwich on his channel:

He even visits Mr. Beef in Chicago, which is the inspiration for The Beef on the The Bear. The owner is Storer's childhood friend and they shot 90% of the pilot at the restaurant.

I had a Chicago Italian beef sandwich for the first time a couple months ago when I was in the Windy City (ironically, it was only a week or so before I started watching The Bear and I had no idea that the show initially focused on making those sandwiches). I went to Portillo’s, not Mr. Beef, but my God, that was the best beef sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. The Philly Cheesesteak doesn’t even come close. Such a simple sandwich, just beef, peppers and bread, but the flavor is nothing short of phenomenal. I wasn’t even that hungry but it would have felt like a crime not to eat the whole thing (and it was huge).
