The BEER Appreciation Thread!

I'm not sure that they have Wychwood in the U.S. Too bad, it looks tasty :csad:

I like Belgian Beers, mostly Ales. They make regular beer taste like water.

I found this recently:

It's pretty good if you like beer like Young's Double Chocolate Stout.

I have recently been turned on to chocolate beer (dont knock it til you try it)

Sam Adams Chocolate Bock is definitely one of my faves. Only problem is its made an limited edition batches and costs about $15.

a really good substitute is Rogue Chocolate Stout. The choclate flavor is much more rich and it costs about a third the price

never tried one, but it sounds good.

ok, well im gonna assume you have had a lager or ale before. The difference being the hop to malt ratio. Bocks and stouts have a much more malty taste, many times even a coffee taste to it, which is complemented by chocolate.

As soon as it hits your pallete its chocolate but then you get the malty beer taste afterward. Its a nice balance (except that Rogue is much more chocolaty)

I need to try this one...I saw it for the first time last weekend but didn't wanna spend the $$ at the time, haha.

Ugh, I DESPISE this one! I didn't detect much of a chocolate flavor at all.

The best chocolate stout I've ever had is by far Young's Double Chocolate Stout. LOVE it!

Tis the season for my favorite winter seasonal beer, Pete's Wanderlust Cream Ale...I need to go find a store that has it!

Thank you all. I love you right back.

I believe the chocolate malt in Cream Stout refers to the color of the barley which is a dark brown/black, not its taste. I've tasted chocolate barley once and it just tastes burnt. Sam Adams Cream Stout is flavored with coffee.
