Wow. I wanted to love this but cannot...

This movie was like a sitcom reunion where the cast reprises their roles after years, but only come of as shadows of their former self... Mockeries...

The comic book franchises are learning the hard way what a slippery slope utilizing too many characters in one movie is.

We did not need Venom. Who the **** was Venom in this?

Venom was forced on Ramai ha needed his own movie later on with a different director. The whole Venom story occured during a different era in Spidey as it is. Shouldve been Lizard and maybe Sandman or Vulture.

The rock falling from the sky..?

Venom knew how to use his powers in 5 seconds?

The scene where Venom finds Sandman and somehow knows Sandmans whole deal and relationship with Spiderman even though he had never even met him?
That was the most rediculous thing I've ever seen. That 30 seconds proved to me what a joke the whole idea of Venom even being in this movie was.

The hero losing his innocense... It dont work... Not in Superman and not in Spiderman. Its a fun concept hypothetically, but in the end it taints everything.

They didnt even try to utilize the JJ son and MJ issue. It was just ignored... Coudve been great. I wonder if the cast and filmakers realize all these things...

Characters fighting side by side and with fantastic chemistry even though its he first time theyve ever worked together?

Too many coincidences and too many "matter of facts" I couldnt suspend my disbelief the way this movie demanded....

Effects were amazing. Awesome! Some of the best ever. Too bad none of that mattered because the meaning behind it all was tarnished beyond repair.
I dont care how cool something looks if I dont care about the characters and the motivation behind whats happening it might as well not occur...

There are other things.... Tons.. But I just got home from the movie and I think Ive gotten out enough for now...

Peace
Konee

i hated it as well. It was the worst movie i sat through in very long time. The whole thing was a joke.

yea i agree, i think they shouldve used venom in another movie, cause he didnt get enough screentime and well yea he was pushed into raimi, it felt crowded
then at some point, so much stuff happened then we go back to sandman (after the water thingy)he survived, but so much stuff happened inbtween to the point where i forgot about him... i know weird.. oh well

They could have done so much better with thi film. I still can't believe how bad this film was. My God the script was in par with Batman and Robin. I'm still shaking my head. What happened to Sony? How could they let Raimi made a movie out of that script?

I certainly didn't hate it, I was just disappointed.

no wonder raimi was skeptical about coming back for the 4TH installment, now i get it .... gee

Would a longer director's cut correct some of the problems that you saw with the movie? It at least looked like it wouldn't be as boring of movie like the first 2 were although I still love them. Maybe it was because of cheesy quips or one liners that ruined this movie more so than the other 2 for some.

That movie was horrible. Huge disappointment just like X3. On to 2008 and The Dark Knight!

No wonder Sony marketed the heck out of this movie. They know the word of mouth is going to be horrible so they're trying to get as much money as quickly as possible.

$258 million can buy you a lot of great SFX, but it can't buy you a good script. SM3's script is flat-out horrible.

Some parts of the movie seemed very rushed, notably the genesis of Venom and Sandman's partnership. I actually thought I had tuned out 10 minutes or so of the film and missed where they met earlier. Seems that they tried to force emotion too much in some places. The ending left me . There's a lot of good-looking action, but the overall feel to falls flat too often. SM3 didn't nearly strike the same chords with me as the first two. I got too much enjoyment out of it to truly 'hate' it, but I am disappointed.

I hate there is no mention of John Jameson what so ever. No explanation of who design that new glider and reform the goblin formula. Harry don't have the brains for that. They could have mentioned Oscorp in the least.

The symbiote transfers all of Peter's knowledge to Brock (hence the "tiger" line, how he knows to use his powrs, etc). That is how he knew about Marko at first. Brock easily could have found out the rest of the info about Marko (his daughter and stuff) elsewhere. Not a big deal.

Man, they just CANT make a good Superhero trilogy. i mean, they get two great ones out, then the third just...

I tried so damn hard to like this, but no. i mean, it wasnt' terrible, but it was so dissapointing.

The pacing was off. There were too many stories crammed in. There were tons of utterly ridiculous moments that werent needed (the dancing ****, everything with that ugly girl next door).

Also, is it just me or was Sandman dissappearing into the sunset at the end just about the lamest thing ever?

The movie never makes it clear that the suit transfers all its knowledge.... No way... I think Brett Ratner directed this........

And with the butler? And his speech? Why not tell harry that **** a year ago if he knew how his dad really died?

So, so bad....

Oh man.......

Well, there's always the BB trilogy. Nolan won't screw up. He had like 4+ villains in BB and it was 100 times better than SM3. It's because the story, acting, and dialogue are a lot better. In fact, it appears that Nolan is getting things more narrowly focused as he goes along. Part 2 will be about the Joker, and part 3 will be about Two-Face. Harvey Dent will help Batman in part 2 but end up getting turned into Two-Face towards the end of the film, setting up the third one. And Joker isn't going to die in TDK.

Konee Rok, it is clear...how else would Eddie know MJ calls Peter "tiger"? That was the big indicator to me.

Oh man.......

I was thinking the exact same thing. I thought this was a bad concept for Harry to find out the truth.

wanted to like it. really did. Just way too much going on and not one solid developed villian. Did like the milk and cookies part though :)

Fact of the matter is nearly every little revelation or argument or situation in the film is completely contrived just like a crappy soap opera. It's just bad, all the way around. But, I'm over my anger now and I'm into the laughing stages. This is so bad it's funny. It is getting GRILLED on the SM3 page at IMDB. Goodness pretty much everyone hates it except for the people paid by Sony to defend it to the death. :woot:

It needed a re-edit. That stupid strutting around town scene should have been cut down dramatically. I think There were a lot of scenes that worked and a few that didn't that just glared out. It also seems like they got the thing that ruined a lot of films. Lets go overboard on the little, spontaneous, but genuine thing that made the previous move so good. I.E. the strutting scene. The landlords daughter scene that worked so well in 2. It is the same thing like Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. Hey we won a academy award for the lighting and the flourescent lit scenes in Forever, so lets do it a lot in B&R. If they had just cut out a few things it would have been a lot better. Like the stupid newscaster's report and the anchor reporting during the final battle just ruined it. The Butler telling Harry that Peter didn't kill his dad. I know that was his character from the first two movies, but it was a scene where the character needed to break character much like the butler in Arthur broke character to straighten Arthur out. There were just so many things that worked but they got ruined by the stuff that didn't. And instead of the Goth haircut, they should have given Peter slight bags under his eyes when the symbiote was taking over Peter. It just seemed stupid that he had a different hairstyle when he showed up. And I would have liked to have seen J. Jonah Jameson mad at Parker because the girl who stood his son up on the alter is with his employee.

Wow, I can't believe I have been hyped for that film for about two years. I paid 9.50$ for it as well. I am highly disappointed.

I was really surprised they didn't touch on that.

Hey it was still better than Superman Returns though. But that emo thing had to go. They should have made him become more darker. The scene when he was in his apartment listening to the scanner was how he should have been, and not the emo look.

It was a terrible film. It seemed as if the CGI kept it interesting. There were so many awkward moments that were unneccessary. Symbiote Spiderman should have been more harsh, not emo. But all of you know that. When it showed Emo Peter in a blur before the fistfight with Harry in the mansion, everybody, including me, in the theatre just bust out laughing because of how ridiculous he obviously looked. He even swayed his hair back with his head. WOW. -_____-

The trailers made this look so good with so much potential. Too bad, it was the total opposite. Oh, and I hate how Peter could TAKE OFF the symbiote suit, and it would just stay there/not move. That's retarted. How can a latex suit make someone more quick/powerful/do stupid dances? They should have exemplified the symbiote's power more. (ie. morph into streetclothes, form onto Peter's body, retract, etc.) WAY too many clips/trailers were shown. Even though that is wholeheartedly my fault for viewing them. I pretty much knew all of the dialogue in the entire film.

It was sort of a disappointment.

Some things felt rushed. A character like Venom deserved better. I wanted to see more of the black spidey! ( just something I noticed, the musical theme for black spideys suit was not great either) I felt there was just too much focus on Peter, MJ and Harry and not enough on spider-man (red-blue suit/black suit) in action. Peter's new attitude/personality when he had the symbiote seemed a little awkard. I know they wanted Peter to behave differently, but it was just not the best approach to take. Topher Grace was ok as Brock, but I still feel that someone else should have been used.
I didnt like the whole "Sandman was the actual killer of Uncle Ben." It just felt kind of forced. I think that Uncle Ben's death had closure in SM2 and it wasnt necessary for it to be re-opened again.

Too much going on at once. I didn't hate it, but the parts that were bad, were, well, really ****ing bad! The good stuff was as awesome as the bad stuff was bad. I'm not too hyped about seeing it again- I'm looking forward to the DVD so I won't have to watch **** like Peter dancing around and snapping his fingers just to see the good parts. I should have the bootleg soon :word:

I think, frankly, that each ticket should have come with a nice little baggie of whatever Sam Raimi was smoking when he worked on this film.
