fist shootout in face-off

T-800 trashing the pescadero hospital staff in T2

(I hate the movie but love this fight) obi-wan and quigon jinn vs darth maul in ep 1

The French Connection car chase
Bullit car chase
The Dark Knight SWAT VS Joker VS Batman chase

Scarface, the ending, the cocaine deal gone wrong

Heat, the bank heist

SM2 - clock tower/train sequence
greatest superhero action sequence commited to film. 6 years on and it still hasn't been bettered.

Honestly too many for me to mention, couldnt narrow it down!

Spider-Man 3 : Final Battle, Harry Vs. Peter (1st)
Wolverine : Waepon XI Vs. Sabes & Wolverine
Jurassic Park : Finale
Hook : The Ultimate War

I'll be back...

John Woo in the late 80's/ early 90's... The Killer/ Hard Boiled blew my mind in High School, especially the finale of The Killer and the Hospital scene at the end in Hard Boiled.

Punisher: War Zone- The Bradstreet Massacre
Return of the Jedi- Assault on the Death Star
Terminator 2- The California Highway Pursuits
Hot Fuzz- Shootout in the Village
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade- The Tank Battle

Raiders of the Lost Ark--Flying Wing fight as well as the truck chase.

Aliens--the end
The French Connection--the big chase
Hot Fuzz--the last half-hour
Kill Bill, Vol. 1--the Crazy 88 fight
The Killer--the last shootout
LA Confidential--the last shootout
The Professional--Leon's apartment shootout
Star Wars: A New Hope--the end
Terminator 2--the last fight between T-800 and T-1000

Transformers Revenge of the Falleb Shanghai Scene
And Alice-is-a-decepticon reveal all the way to Prime's death

Classics division

Chariot Race - Ben Hur
(Hasn't aged a day in 50 years.)

Ride of the Valkyries - Apocalypse Now
(I love the smell of napalm in the morning.)

Battle of Shrewsbury - Chimes at Midnight
(Welles's "lost" masterpiece. A prime influence on Braveheart's battle scenes.)

Final Battle - The Seven Samurai
(Dozens of people, rain, arrows, guns, swords, and it's clear as day as to what's happening. Controlled chaos.)

Final Showdown - Yojimbo
(Sword vs. Pistol. Doesn't get any more iconic than that.)

Train Chase - The General
(Buster Keaton's masterpiece. No cgi here.)

Building Climb - Safety Last
(Remember, no cgi here.)

Total Recall Metro Shoot-Out
All of Terminator 2
The Wild Bunch Final
Commando Final

and some more... :o

I know it's a CG movie, but Dash taking on Syndrome's flying blade vehicles in Incredibles was one of the best things I have seen physically brought to screen.

Raiders of the Lost Ark--Flying Wing fight as well as the truck chase.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Face/Off- Church Shootout

The French Connection- Train/car chase

Dirty Harry- Opening Shootout, very short but sweet introduction to Harry Callahan

Last Man Standing- The very last way way over the top shootout with 45 pistols that never run out of ammo.

Face/Off - escape from Arawan prison
Ronin - car chase
Blade 1: Blade enters the 'blood bath'
Total Recall - subway chase
Predator - Dutch vs Predator
Spider-Man 2 - train sequence
LOTR - fellowship in the troll cave
Avatar - final battle
Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom - 'battle for the antidote!'
Terminator 1 - final battle/Reese's death
Shrek 1 - escaping the dragons lair
Batman Begins - Escape from Arkham
Blade 2 - the sewer sequence
The Tournament - the bus/truck sequence

I know the word "masterpiece" gets used quite loosely these days, but seriously --

The Nightcrawler White House sequence from X2 was one of the most masterful pieces of action cinema ever created. I literally was in complete awe the entire time the first time I saw it on the big screen.

- Jow

Superman 2 - Metropolis battle
Face/Off - boat chase finale
The Dark Knight - armor truck/batpod chase
Heat - downtown bank shootout
Transformers - city battle finale
The Fast & The Furious - truck takeover with the Honda's
Empire Strikes Back - At-At attack
