You have a lot of great sequences in there, but I think the movies themselves have better ones. For instance, the end of White Heat is better than the scene you listed, and the first scene in Goodfellas with the death of Billy Batts is better than the beating.

Also, the best sequence in Cuckoo's Nest is the fishing trip.

1) The "Tiny Dancer" singalong in Almost Famous
2) Billy Batts' beating in Goodfellas
3) The fight on the tank in Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade
4) The fishing trip in One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest
5) Phoebe Cates' nude scene in Fast Times At Ridgemont High
6) The Alabama / Virgil showdown in True Romance
7) Jules' interrogation of Brett in Pulp Fiction
8) The sewer climax in Batman Returns
9) Ripley vs. The Queen in Aliens
10) The attack of the Flying Monkeys in The Wizard Of Oz
11) The El Dorado race in The Love Bug
12) The rooftop sequence in Die Hard
13) The cathedral climax in Batman
14) Danny rides his two-wheeler through the halls in The Shining
15) The "Bohemian Rhapsody" sequence in Wayne's World
16) Darth reveals he's Luke's father in The Empire Strikes Back
17) The opening of the Ark in Raiders Of The Lost Ark
18) The fire engine sequence in It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
19) "Do you expect me to talk, Goldfinger?" from Goldfinger
20) Vito kills Fanucci in The Godfather Part II

IMO, of course.

yeah I had some doubts, there are so many great scenes in the movies I listed.....I change my Goodfellas listing. the best scene is with Tommy's mother. :D

I do think the prison cafeteria scene in White Heat is the best scene in the movie...

Anyway, it it was hard to choose 20 scenes. I could list waaaaaaaaay more. (you all feel probably the same..)

Every scene is brilliant. people say that all the time (like the Joker on the top of this page..) but I mean it. McMurphys' talk with dr Spivey, the fake baseball game, the basketball game, the final scene...

You mean after they beat him? Great scene. And most of it was improvised.

Yeah. Catherine Scorsese manages to steal that scene. And she's sitting at that table with Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci and ****ing ROBERT DENIRO! Just awesome. :D

Why don't you get yourself a nice girl?
I get a nice girl almost every night mom!

Another really great scene is when Jommy chews out Johnny Roastbeef after Lufthansa.

"What's the matter with you? What's the matter with you?"

"I-I'm sorry, Jimmy."

(moment's pause)

"What the **** is the matter with you?"

:whatever:  Including the "Raindrops keep falling on my head" sequence in SM2...

He says that in alot of movies. it is like, a signature line. :D

The whole Lufthansa-corpses-compilation is

And ofcourse the How am I funny scene. But that goes without saying really...

And the entire May 11th, 1980 sequence. Lois Byrd has to be one of the all time cinematic *****es.

you mean Last day as a Wiseguy? That ***** with her lucky hat buried Hill!

Both scenes with Spider are perfect:
Why don't you go **** yourself, Tommy?

I felt bad for Spider. :(

I did too.

Tommy is a ****ing psycho.

Joe Pesci was great in Casino aswell (despite him playing almost exactly the same character)

The way he dies in that is gut-wrenchingly violent. That movie as a whole, is probably the most violent I have ever seen

Brilliant sequence, but one you definately have to have seen Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid to appreciate, hence the enmity towards it.

I always wondered what the full meaning of those scenes is. In my heart I think it was one of the stepping stones towards Henry becoming disenchanted with mafia life (Spider's basically starting out the way he and Tommy had. Henry can probably relate) but nothing that comes after is particularly consistent with that.

So... I dunno. Still a really heartcrunching scene.

It's when things start getting ****ty. (Along with The billy Batts killing - the beginning of the end)

On the special edition, if you listen to the commentary with Henry and the FBI agent who sponsored him in the Witness Protection program (his name eludes me at the moment), he actually makes a comment that up until the death of Batts, Henry seems to have no qualms bout the life, but then after Batts is whacked and Spider is killed, his viewpoint slowly starts to take a different turn. I personally agree with this.

Yeah, I get the vibe that things get a lot worse post-those killings, but it didn't feel to me like Henry's outlook necessarily changed. It was more like the exterior circumstances did.

Also, does anyone else love how Sam Jackson gets taken out like a punk in Goodfellas?:D

Haven't seen Casino

Another thing: did anyone feel slightly bad for Morrie? Yes, he was a pain in the ass, and Jimmy had to kill everyone involved, but he still got Jimmy and the boys what they needed.

"You're even late for your own ****ing funeral."

The fact they use a song like "The Bells Of St. Marie" makes the scene all the more shocking.

Yeah, in that commentary you mentioned the real Henry gets pretty upset during that sequence. He says the real Morrie(They used a fake name, and bleeped out the real one in the commentary) was a really nice guy and he liked him.

I love how he dies in his underwear. There's blood EVERYWHERE.

You should watch it. It's a great companion piece to Goodfellas. Beautifully shot and VERY well-acted. Plus it has a soundtrack with so much Classic Rock your brain almost can't take it all in. :D

Ofcourse I did. Poor Morrie

'"Dont buy wigs that come off at the wrong time! Morrie's wigs are tested against hurricane winds..''

Yes, Henry said he was such a great guy and goes on about how Jimmy was such a piece of ****.

He has an even better death in True Romance.
He goes into this little monologue about eating ***** and Gary Oldman blows him away with a shotgun
