You are in my top of the worst posters ever  :down

It might sound strange, but while I think Aliens and T2 are the most entertaining of his movies I consider Titanic being the best for other reasons.

T2 is possibly the best action movie ever made.

I agree with this statement 100%... It is the best single sequel and action movie ever.

Furthermore, James Cameron is a unique talent and a visionary. He walked away from the bus for years b/c it got to the point where he couldn't top himself (plus, he's obsessed with all things aquatic). Still, he created a gap in action film when he left, and we've yet to see it filled.

T2.

Close to being the ultimate summer 'event' movie.

Still possibly the most fun I have had in a cinema.

Its awfully close between Aliens and The Terminator, but I'm giving it to Aliens.

That's realistic dialogue. The T-800 almost kills someone, you're 14 years old, what do you say to him QUICKLY to stop him doing it again? That's exactly what I would say to him.

James Cameron: Battle Angel Trilogy

Do you want to make a movie trilogy? Are you a big enough director to command a lot of money and studio respect up front? If you answered "yes" to both of these two questions, you might want to consider the hot new trend of filming at least two of your three flicks back-to-back in the same shoot! It is time saving, money saving, and it lets you get your flicks to the screen within a year or so of each other, keeping audiences fresh and well aware of your story. This method has already been successfully proved by such franchises as The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and the currently popular Pirates of the Caribbean, and has thus far met with strong approval. It is the hot new way to do things in Hollywood, and if you want to stay current with movie trends you should really consider this method.

Just ask James Cameron, who is so enamored of the technique he is considering using it for two upcoming projects of his. Cameron plans to shoot the first film of a Project 880 franchise (probably called Avatar) as well as his much anticipated Battle Angel film and gauge the box office reception they get. If either (or both) of them are successful, he'd like to shoot parts two and three back-to-back. His only stipulation is each film would have to stand alone as an independent story as well -- no big cliffhanger events at the end of each film to draw you back for the next episode.

like what?

Aliens by far. It is absolutley perfect in every way. The writing, the dialogue, the acting, the atmosphere, the score and just about everything else has nothing wrong with it. The elements mesh together so beautifully in a way few other films are able to. It is the greatest action movie ever made and a top three favorite movie.

Also, the amount of ass Titanic sucks is beyond human comprehension. It is an overblown, depressing, sappy, drawn out, overly sentimental mess of a motion picture that is easily Cameron's weakest work...with the possible exception of Pirannah 2.

did he ever direct anything after titanic? like right after it made a billion dollars it seems like he stopped making movies

He's made documentaries, but no major feature films yet. He's working on TWO trilogies though.

Yes T2 did suck...I saw T2 in the theaters when I was 15.I thought it was awesome at the time, but as I get older I found that The Terminator is better than the sequal.Had a much more intresting story and Arnold fit the quiet killing machine like a glove. As far as Cameron's BEST movie,That would be of course The Titanic,The Terminator movies are some of his COOLEST movies, thier is a differance between cool and best.

The explanation of why Titanic is total **** has already been given in this thread.

And, no, Terminator 2 does not have a dumb story. It weaves the questions of fate, insanity and humanity very intelligently. One of my favourite things about it was Sarah;s arc, of becoming more and more mechanical, willing to murder Dyson in cold blood, as the Terminator gains humanity, even learning compassion.

And Cameron's dialogue has never been strong. But good dialogue does not a movie make.

A machine becoming human is unrealistic..your out of your mind if you think great dialogue doesn't make a movie.

Unrealistic? In a movie with a time machine?

A machine learning vital concepts of humanity to contrast with a human slowly succumbing to the darker, more mechanical, brutalistic side of humanity is hardly a concept that shouldn't be explored.

No, I'm not. It's one aspect of a great movie. Structure, good direction, interesting ideas, philosophical questioning, good characters and INTEREST are far more important.
