man if Eddie McClintock was just a few years younger he'd be perfect. He can nail the "kid in a man's body" character really well. Just watch Warehouse 13 and see that his character Pete is just that, a big kid.

yep. 5'11'' is above avg. With the right shoes he could be 6'3'' no problem. Does Robert Downey seem all that short in his movies?

RDJ looks average in his movies, elevator shoes and all. Evans looks tall-ish, but not particularly tall. Neither of them look Captain Marvel-tall by any stretch of the imagination.

SMH. I guess we all have our priorities. Mine just happen to be someone who can act and can embody that child-like innocence and inherent goodness that the Big Red Cheese is supposed to have. I've been a fan of Captain Marvel for almost 50 yrs now. I started collecting his books in the early 70's.
I still have that huge jumbo sized one from 73.

To me Cap would be played like Tom Hank's character in "Big".

Yeah he's wise and smart but he still has the wonder of seeing the world through a kid's eyes.

The Flash is 5'11, i think it's fine to have a 5'10 Shazam. Camera tricks and what not will help as well.

If you're fine with having a Batman who is 6'4 and much taller than Superman, you should probably chill out about Shazam's height...

CelebHeights is usually very reliable and they list him 5'9".

The Flash is 5'11, i think it's fine to have a 5'10 Shazam. Camera tricks and what not will help as well.

So, Captain Marvel should be shorter than The Flash? Why waste time on camera tricks when you can just cast the right fit for the role?

David Denman is only a better choice in your eyes because he is taller I've seen a lot of his work and I don't see Shazam in him at all except for his height.

McEllhenney may not be as tall as you want Shazam to be but there's no denying that he could nail the role acting wise, and his facial appearance suits the role as well. If we have a 5'11 Flash, we can have a 5'10 Shazam

Denman has the face for it and the boy-ish charm to go with it. He's not the BEST available choice (that goes to John Krasinski), but he's solid enough.

McElhenney might have the chops, but he doesn't have the look. At all. Like when people wanted scrawny little Matt Bomer for Superman.
