Can he, though? He has a very thin resumé, and most of it is non-speaking, eye-candy roles.Derek Theler for Shazam. He's 6′ 5″, buff, and can act.

man if Eddie McClintock was just a few years younger he'd be perfect. He can nail the "kid in a man's body" character really well. Just watch Warehouse 13 and see that his character Pete is just that, a big kid.

He's, at least, three inches too short.
they have shoes with lifts in them. He's 5'11'' that's plenty tall enough.
5'11" passes these days as plenty tall? Jeez.
RDJ looks average in his movies, elevator shoes and all. Evans looks tall-ish, but not particularly tall. Neither of them look Captain Marvel-tall by any stretch of the imagination.yep. 5'11'' is above avg. With the right shoes he could be 6'3'' no problem. Does Robert Downey seem all that short in his movies?
Chris Evans is 6 ft even.

I don't particularly disagree with anything said up here.SMH. I guess we all have our priorities. Mine just happen to be someone who can act and can embody that child-like innocence and inherent goodness that the Big Red Cheese is supposed to have. I've been a fan of Captain Marvel for almost 50 yrs now. I started collecting his books in the early 70's.
I still have that huge jumbo sized one from 73.
To me Cap would be played like Tom Hank's character in "Big".
Yeah he's wise and smart but he still has the wonder of seeing the world through a kid's eyes.
He could pass for 12 if he's clean shaven, sure. Now, who could they cast as his adult counterpart?Rob McElhenney
he is a grown ass man lolHe could pass for 12 if he's clean shaven, sure. Now, who could they cast as his adult counterpart?![]()
Who is barely 5'9" with the tiniest possible frame. No way he's Captain Marvel material. Unless it's Marvel's Captain Marvel?he is a grown ass man lol
you are blind breh, he'd make an awesome ShazamWho is barely 5'9" with the tiniest possible frame. No way he's Captain Marvel material. Unless it's Marvel's Captain Marvel?

5'9". He's shorter than a barefoot Wonder Woman.he is 5'10..............
there are conflicting reports. I'm guessing he is closer to 5'10 but I've seen him listed as 5'95'9". He's shorter than a barefoot Wonder Woman.
CelebHeights is usually very reliable and they list him 5'9".there are conflicting reports. I'm guessing he is closer to 5'10 but I've seen him listed as 5'9
So, Captain Marvel should be shorter than The Flash? Why waste time on camera tricks when you can just cast the right fit for the role? The Flash is 5'11, i think it's fine to have a 5'10 Shazam. Camera tricks and what not will help as well.
Ben is 6'2" and, nope, not fine with it. It looks stupid. If you're fine with having a Batman who is 6'4 and much taller than Superman, you should probably chill out about Shazam's height...
At this point superboy13, i am 100% sure that Rob McElhenney WILL be playing Shazam.
David Denman is only a better choice in your eyes because he is tallerYawn.

McEllhenney may not be as tall as you want Shazam to be but there's no denying that he could nail the role acting wise, and his facial appearance suits the role as well. If we have a 5'11 Flash, we can have a 5'10 Shazam
