Bond 22 - 14-12-06
UK tabloid reports that The Killers may sing the Bond 22 theme
Virgin.net have reported a snippet in The Sun tabloid newspaper that The Killers have been asked to write the theme tune for Bond 22.

MEDIA RUMOUR
Indie rockers The Killers have apparently been asked to pen a track for the next James Bond movie.

The Las Vegas outfit are now thinking over whether to lend their sound to 'Risico', the next 007 film, which begins shooting next year.

A source told The Sun: "The Killers have reached the perfect point in their career to do a Bond track. They have the right sound, the right look and a huge fanbase, making them the perfect choice."

The band have had a highly successsful 2006, with their second LP 'Sam's Town' topping the UK album chart in October, while their track 'When We Were Young' reached number two in the singles chart.

Audioslave singer and former Soundgarden star Chris Cornell has come up with the theme tune for the latest Bond movie, 'Casino Royale', which stars Daniel Craig.

The track, titled 'You Know My Name', was released earlier this week.

Nice, the article also said that Campbell will return. I think this is a given, seeing as how well Casino Royale did....

I think The Killers will do a good job. Hopefully it'll be better than the crap known as the Casino Royale theme song!

What ever happend to women doing the songs?

Madonna did Die Another Day and well look what happened.

When I first heard You Know My Name I thought it was nothing more than average. But my opinion of the song changed dramatically when David Arnold's orchestral arrangements added more colour to the song. And it's really grown on me now.

As for the Killers to do the next theme song. Sadly I don't know much of their stuff but I'm open to see what they can do with it.

WOW! There are actually people out there disliking Cornell´s You Know My Name. Thats both, awsome and disturbing.

Well, most of the songs have been sung by women, but not really a vast majority. In fact, the very first one, From Russia with Love, was sung by Matt Monro. (since Dr. No didn't have its own song)

Others that come to mind are Thunderball by Tom Jones, Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney (one of my favorites), A View to a Kill by Duran Duran, The Living Daylights by a-ha. There might be a couple more, but there you go.

Speaking of the Killers, I hope they get more synthesizer-y if they do this one. That wouldn't necessarily be more Bond-esque, but it'd make for a better Killers song. Without the synth, they sound more generic, in my opinion.

id want either U2 or Amy Lee from Evanescense doing one of her slowing type songs

what about shirley bassey coming back to do another bond theme???

The Tomorrow Never Dies theme song was my favorite

How about doing something severely unconventional and unique and getting Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts to do it?

If you think the Seatbelts are bad, you know nothing about music.

Porcupine Tree if not Steven Wilson alone should perform a Bond song. I wouldn't mind Ray Wilson (no relation and former Genesis lead singer) performing one.

You know i'd love to see Robbie Williams to a bond song.
There were rumors back that he'd do the title song for CR but those were proven false. Still i do love the bond overtones in "Millenium".

And if Chris Cornell with his voice can sing a cool bond song , then Rob Dougan with his rock grinding voice can do the same :word:

I've always wanted Fantasia Burrano to sing a Bond theme song ever since she won American Idol.
