aw bat-mite is going to annoy me. oh well I like the wonderwoman look and want to see it now.

can't wait to see robin. i hope he's even funnier to watch than speedy, lol. speedy was just downright silly and ridiculous. it was even funnier cuz green arrow treated him like a younger brother, lol. he was like "hey deadman, don't go too crazy. i need him." hahhaha, i dont know what but that was so funny to me.

but uhh yeah. i'm loving this show.

to me, it seems to be the most comic book accurate than all the series that have come out. yes, even BTAS. BTAS was good cuz it was its own thing. brave and the bold, however, i think illustrates who batman is in the comics. you know he's not all that bright, he's only bright in costume. he's actually pretty dark in character. it's only his surrounding partners who are campy. every now batman will throw in a joke, but it's all good and batman styled.

There are clearly two different types of people here, people with a sense of humor and people that take things far too seriously.

This sole statement makes everything you say worthless.

The highest money making times of Batman were his darkest and the lowest tiimes were his campiest crap and light hearted nonsense...do the MATH

See I'm not just a Bat Fan but Batman is my favorite character of all time. He is honestly my favorite character ever created and any one who knows me knows this. I love the guy (no homo). I'm just a more mature yet art loving person who got sucked into comicbooks for the sophisticated aspects that the creaters original layed on the table until The government and different media outlets put censorship on it adding a DUO aspect that actually posed the question if Batman was homosexual or not with the addition of Robin.

All the Bat Girls, bat women, Robin characters are all spawns off the real thing and it was annoying when I acknowledged it at 10 years old or so that they were running out of ideas and so they made a GREAT character feel mundane. You will like what you like about the Bat verse and I will what I like... it is what it is, I just can't believe that The weak points of Batman's cultural following actually has supporters.

Lemme guess that you guys liked the POW, BIFF crap and Adam West's horrible out fit with that HORRIBLE joker and despicable world of a guy who's parents were brutally MURDERED at gun point. Thing is that Batman IS a serious character who witnessed the death of his parents. He is psychologically disturbed and balances that out behind his new face. None of these aspects are felt when you make Batman feel like flash Gordon or Buck Rogers... That was NOT the intent of that universe... please at least you guys can actually see this aspect. If I gave you a story of a boy witnessing the death of his parents, growing up to be a deadly weapon against crime, dressing up as a BAT while using FEAR as a weapon, would you pull CAMP and hokey poke out of it???? SERIOUSLY!!!!! SERIOUSLY folks...come on!!!!

Yeah... I don't give a crap about how much money is being made. :yay: I like Batman in this series, he's not a brooding ******* with absolutely no sense of humor.

Oh no, most all humans have a sense of humor in some fashion and take something seriously in their own way. Batman has it's sense of humor through it's villains especially Joker, but his city is not funny and neither is He. I want funny **** I go watch a sitcom or read archie, scooby doo, or Asterix and Obelix or even DEAD POOL, but not BATMAN!!!! Nothing funny about murder and serious crime in the real world and this universe of Batman is meant to reflect that.

He's not supposed to have a sense of humor...his parents were murdered infront of his eyes and he will never forget that. he is obsessive compulsive against crime and does not find IT or anything he's doing FUNNY!!!!! he is called the DARK KNIGHT for a reason and takes what he does VERY seriously.

HE only finds fun and pleasure or even a slight ironic humor in how he serves his justice

I have never read something so delusional, it's like he's living in some sort of fantasy world where good stories and character are judged on how dark it is. You want your "SERIOUS!" then go jump off a bridge, because any true fan would acknowledge the different aspects of Batman and not just one gritty version.

Dude, calm down. It's only Batman. He was campy for a few decades back in the day, then became serious again like he was in the beginning. Now there's a cartoon for kids that's a little campy again. Big whoop. If you don't like it, you don't even have to watch or even acknowledge it.

Some of us can sit back, look at a silly Batman cartoon, and just laugh and enjoy it. We'll always have "dark" Batman when we need him; he's in every comic and the new movies. This kids show isn't going to make him any less cool. He's Batman!

Thanks for listing everything that makes the overly dark take on Batman a boring, one-dimensional character.

Yeah, I get it, his parents were killed in front of him, it's traumatic, but guess what? Either he'd have learned to enjoy himself again, or he'd have killed himself. Sure, he's a driven man, but he's still just human (something that nearly every die-hard Batfan LOVES about him), and as a human being, he's got to have a sense of humor, even in his work (which I realize you mentioned, but it kind of contradicts the whole he "takes what he does VERY seriously" point you tried to make).

bagh it doesn't really matter anyway cause this show is just a smidgen in what Nolan, Burton, and Miller have created. You mention batman now, people don't think of humor, camp, adam west or this mundane show LOL. I'm just glad that when you say Joker...LEDGER, and you say Batman BALE. Say batman animated they think mid 90s. Cause in most every average persons mind THAT is BATMAN!!!!! not a funny guy LOL. so I'm coo'. this bad taste will go away when they realize that this ain't what makes Batman money. The Arkham game coming soon so that should bring things back to where they are supposed to be THANK GOD!!!!!

...Okay...So where in this series has Batman ever found anything funny the way you're describing? You make it sound as if Batman's guest villain takes a prat fall and Batman slaps his knee laughing at them. If you watch the cartoon Batman's character is intact! Batman does take what he's doing in the series seriously, it's just that he winds up playing the straight man for other characters. This Batman still is everything you said you want Batman to be in your post.

...Besides Batman made jokes EVEN in Batman the Animated Series. MORE THAN ONE. And it's not like Batman tells knock knock jokes...He has his own unique sense of humor. Batman is dry and sarcastic, just like he was in BTAS and in the NUMEROUS examples from the comics in this very thread...

...Also after reading your post I'd like to remind you that Nolan, Burton, and Miller's interpretations of Batman have said something witty/funny.

Ok let's release a cartoon series where batman is black and Joker is indonesian since we want to have fun with the character and flip his mythos here and there...come on...BATMAN is gritty but whatever this is just a bad taste like West was and will soon become a parody that no one takes seriously years to come.

I agree with wit and sarcasm, but where is the creature of the knight who uses shadows as his ally and fear as his weapon????

And for god's sake, if you're going to cite anyone alongside Nolan for making a good dark Batman, use Timm and Dini. I know that Miller wrote that overrated piece of junk back in the 80s, but he's done nothing but hurt the character lately.

Honestly Godman i can't believe you even watch this show, say one thing thats as campy as Adam West show or has made thsi show a disrespect or something to your precious grimdark batman. And there was plenty of humour in B:TAS and The Dark Knight especially between Bruce and Alfred, is that a disrespect to your grimdark batman aswell?

Yea Bruce and Alfred always share Humor but BATMAN is a whole different psychological aspect of bruce when he is not cracking jokes. He is veryserious but will through sarasm and witty remarks once in a while.

Year One and The Dark Knight Returns were AMAZING and The Dark Knight strikes back did nothing but elevate the mind of bruce wayne to even more heights and showed us a hero who can take on this ****ing government we call AMERICA. It showed how a true patriot is someone willing to fight the government for his country... AMAZING!!!!!!

Then how can you stand Frank Miller's Batman? he throw jokes all the time to Green Lantern and others. :p

Godman, are you really so bitter? I mean, nobody takes this show seriously. It's like watching the Teen Titans cartoon. You get a few laughs, watch a nifty action sequence, have some fun, and call it a day. It's everything a Saturday Morning Cartoon should be, if they still made Saturday Morning Cartoons.

Whoa! Whoa! I don't know anyone who liked The Dark Knight Strikes Again. Not enough to brag about it. Now I'm convinced you're a troll who's just arguing for the sake of arguing.

I heard about a new Batman animated series and I lit up and when I saw the trailer I posted to my homies and we were like is this a JOKE???? LOL we laughed and clowned an low an behold it is an actual show.

**** reminds me of aqua teen adult swim **** LOL. in that sense it's poking fun, but man where is the real ****, the GOOD stuff. when do we get the REAL animated series???? that just what I feel. Even the last one was not so good, but had some interesting stories. They need to just revamp completely and base it on Nolan's Batman with Nolan's Joker since ledger can't really reprise we can have it animated to build up for the next movie. I feel the cartoons should always be pilots for potential movies.

could you imagine a Brave and Bold live action???? YUK!!!!

I could imagen Brave and Bold and it would be truly outrageous. =D Ofcourse all you want is some Dark cartoon that wouldn't be for children at all, but that won't never happen. ;o Honestly you most likely haven't given this show a chance at all and just do arrogant and ignorant posts where you claim the grimdark stuff is the only way to go, i mean we really need to have scared little children for saturday mornings now do we?

Frank Miller's drawings may not be where they were at due to the illness he went down with at the time of making it, but the literature and the deep ideas that only select intellects can acknowledge were profound. Like The Matrix 1,2, & 3. Only people who hated 3 were simple minded people who didn't see the depth of knowledge and elevation in those worlds and that's ok cause the average population is simple minded and like to be sheeps led by shepards instead of learning how to be a CHRIST themselves they would rather be a CHRISTian and miss the whole point which is what many did with DKSB. It's really ok, just some people aren't meant to think on that plateau. Some go to church and some got church in them and some go to elect a leader while some are leaders themselves...

Okay, this guy knows NOTHING about Batman. Nothing.
Naught.
Nay.
Nada.
Nothing.
Zero.
Zip.
Zilch.
Finito!

Seriously, all he has done is cite the same freakin' three people over and over and over: Nolan, Burton and Miller. He obviously knows nothing of Dennis O'Neill, Dick Sprang, Bob Haney, Bill Finger, Steve Englehart, Neal Adams or any other truly great comic writer or artist who helped shape the mythos.

He's just some kid who's pretending to know everything about Batman but failing miserably because all he's done is read Miller, watch Burton and Nolan, and then complained whenever something remotely different to that vision has come. He's a fake, just some random who wants to fan-wank over a MINORITY of Batman stories that fit his description of what Batman is.
