I also just think it looks gorgeous. The colors and the lighting make it look very comic booky.

Word. Basically everything I've seen about Chris Evans make me love him twice as much as I thought I could. When he was first announced as Cap I was originally pretty unhappy with the choice, but I now firmly believe they couldn't have made a better choice.

I completely agree, I just wish it had been used in the context of an actual sequence/fight, instead of just an out-of-context money shot used in a montage.

Something I've always wonder, and I'm sure they mentioned it at some point in the comics, how old is Cap suppose to be?

I don't know of a definitive date of birth in the comics (though I'm sure there is one), but in the MCU Steve was born on July 4, 1918, making him 26 when he crashed in the Arctic in 1945.

The shot of THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA looking up in the sky is also really awesome.

In addition to the aesthetics of the shots they also have a sort of "Wow, this is really happening" impact.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but there is an interesting potential "easter egg/forboding clue" in CA:TFA.

In the scene with RED SKULL & ARNIM ZOLA in the lab with the cosmic cube (tesseract) when they are tesing it for the first time, the RED SKULL is looking at some ancient drawings depicting the cube. One of the pictures shows an ancient warrior holding the cube and a sword and he looks like he just decapitated some kind of monster. But radiating from the cube are beams leading to NINE circular pictures. It could be a representation of the cube opening portals to the nine realms.
