The "Christopher Young's score was awful" thread.

I actaully liked Sandmans theme. It was the black spidey theme that sounded terrible IMO. Also the second Harry and Peter fight was pretty bad. It sounded like it had some sort of swing beat to it.

It wasn't awful. I'd love to see one of you hypers make a better score for the entire movie. I just thought it was rather campy and alot of it sounded wrong in places (first time we see the black suit, main theme extended middle part).

Yes, lets see people with no musical experience make something better than a professional, experienced composer.

I was too involved in the movie to really notice the music... until about the 4th time I saw it. And then I remember thinking, wow, I really LIKE this music, it FITS so well. So, in conclusion...

I really loved the score!

Bravo Christopher Young!

I meant where are people to say "OMG it was the worst score evvveeeaaarrrr!!!! OMG!!! I ****ing hated it the movie sucks because of the music, it could have been so much better." I'd like to see them try to do better. Thats just it, most likely they can't. Point Proven. This is why I hate the ****ing Spider-Man boards at the hype and rarely post here. They have to be the most immature, rude, obnoxious boards on the entire hype. :down

So if we aren't able to actually compose a score by ourselves, we aren't entitled to dislike the score done by others.

Ok.

O.K forgive me, but why was Elfman not in SM3 again? Did he and Sam have a falling out, or is it Sony's doing?

^Argh! No. I never said that, it's just I'd love to see some of you who really love to bash Young's score try and do a better job, I'd like to see them do better.

No, it was quite awful even from the intro of the movie. The intro sounded good just for the mere fact that 70% of it was already established from before.

Watch Star Wars of spider-man 2, and listen to the music. Then compare it to the crap in SP3...

i didn't hate the music like the peter harry sky fight and the JAZZY fight in the oscorp mansion was good but i miss elman writing new cues as well

:wow:

Well, by that logic we're not even entitled to discuss what movies are good, or if the CGI was sweet, etc.... But I do see your point.

I think the music you hear when sandman is crawling out of the sand for the first time and at the end when peter is forgiving him is really beautiful music, all the rest is crap!! the symbiote theme is like something from a cheesy 80's horror film!!

Watched x-men 3 earlier and altho the film generally sucked the music is brilliant and the effects r quite abit better than spidey 3 aswell!!!

The Sandman music was EPIC. Other than that, I can't recall any of the new music.

I said it before, the only memorable tune i can recall from the movie is from the Peter/Goblin aerial fight, and that was because it was a remix of the already established Elfman Goblin theme.

i want the score or at least the new goblin themes, main titles and venom theme/

the score really failed on so many levels. the music for the dark pete vs harry scene was probably written in 2 minutes on some toliet paper.

I don't recall any memorable scores from this film besides what Elfman previously did.

But hey, this is the same man who composed Nightmare on Elm Street 3

I didnt mind the harry and peter fight music so much. But it definitely needed some improvement.

I'd actually like to change all the music to an orchestral rock/opera theme. They could have even incorporated the trailer music into the ACTUAL film.

If Christopher Youngs music was a person it would speak like this:

"Greetings and salutations. I am a robot. Press 1 for sandman theme. DANGER WILL ROBINSON!"

Note: The orchestral version of the 70s Spiderman theme was awesome..

Fack You Chris Young!

:wow: You're so rough man!

I for one really liked the Sandman theme, symbiote theme, and the Goblin theme.

Since the symbiote had it's one theme, I would think that it's also Venom's theme.

I thought the score was pretty good actually. I do think that some different music should have been used for the harry vs dark peter fight but other than that I have no complaints. I actually liked the black suit theme as well as sandmans theme. I loved venoms theme and I loved the music that starts playing as peter leaves the jazz club. Also imo the music that plays throughout the whole church scene all the way up to venoms transformation was imo amazing. I say bravo to christopher young.
