The "Christopher Young's score was awful" thread.

Does anybody actually know when the score is available?

I don't know, but it was the same with with SM1's score at least, it didn't come out until a while after the various artist Spidey soundtrack.

did anyone think the venom theme sounded like the soundtrack to the incredibles

and did anyone else think it was totally inappropriate for spiderman's first outing in the black costume...

The first time peter got the black suit was so annoying
i mean...tone it down a bit with the giant horns

I think that's the general concensus here. No score at all during that scene would have made it more creepy.

The scene where Spidey is falling, and dodging the debris as he's trying to save Gwen was a perfect example of how sometimes no music can make the scene better. That part of the scene had no music whatso ever, and you could hear/feel the wind gushing by Spidey as he used his skill to catch up with the falling Ms.Stacey.

Also there's a subtle heart beat sound too as if it's Gwen/Spidey's heart racing. That was a nice effect.

i wish danny elfman stayed he would have done a better job

I completely agree
It makes you feel more like you are right there with them, and it kinda puts you there i think

I just think its funny how different everyone's opinions are. I mean some people loved the "Black Suit" theme, which I thought was horrifying. And most people didn't like Sandman's theme, which I loved. Especially when he first became Sandman and he's learning how to re-form. LOVED IT!

Otherwise, the really only good parts were the little hints at Elfman's original theme. I like the dark version of it, when Pete is trying to get the symbiote off him in the church.

Well I loved it. Yes it was the loudest horns in a Spider-man movie ever, but thats what I liked about it. Really made the moment very epic for me. Reminded me of one of the matrix themes.

The symbiote theme was misguided. Sandman's however was much better and totally fitting fo the character. Venom's just plained rocked, maybe just because it was a lot more subtle than any of the other themes.

But overall, Elfman would have done miles better.

The score was not good at all in my opinion (I'm trying to be nice here). It was cool seeing Dark Spidey get his own theme, but the music was just crappy, especially compared to Elfman or even Spidey 2. I wish Danny Elfman didn't hate Raimi so much, because he's a genius and this would have been one of the perfect movies for him.

I think they should have got Harry-Gregson Williams for the theme. He's kicked ass in all his movies.

Check out Man On Fire or any of the Metal Gear Solid games.

no problem. thank god for TEF (temporary internet files)
