The Crying Issue

That torture bill for terrorists should also include crying men in it...

Maybe thats cuz you've never opened up ;)
I'll take my chances and go for the girls that prefer the cocky/confident guy instead. :o The old stand by.

I'm late but if I see a guy (who's older that 9) crying I'd laugh unless he's crying because a realitive is sick or dying.

Everyone likes a good cry. Well. Maybe not some people. But "normal" people who haven't had their emotions hardened in... hatred cement... or... I think I meant to make that a metaphor. I need some bagels.

What? That doesn't make me any less hetero.
I didn't say it did. There are inumerable homosexual tough-guys out there. It just makes you a wuss.

So, ive been hearing lately and seeing for myself that men are starting to cry a lot more in public. I stress that because men have always cried, they're just really good at hiding it. The question is, why is it becoming more acceptable for men to cry in the eyes of other men. It is just society that's accepting this development or are men actually opening up to the idea that "feeling" isnt a bad thing?

Just curious to know what the men think, and whether any of you will openly admit to crying every once in a while.

More importantly, does it bother you that other men seem to be more emotional, are they tainting the masculine image?

Women, feel free to give your views. :meow:

it's never appropriate to cry in public, male or female.

Appropiate? That is a matter of personal preference.

just like it's not appropriate to get into a shouting argument in the middle of a store, or to have sex on a park bench in full view of other people.

Yes, but something that is inappropiate is not necessarily wrong.

i never said anything about wrong. how could it be wrong to cry? i'm just saying it's off-putting to be walking around a mall or something sobbing.

I'm a guy, and I'll cry where ever the **** I want, whenever I want. Go ahead and call me "gay" or a "sissy", but it's a natural human emotion so deal with it. I had two friends die in the same month earlier this year so I was bawling for two weeks straight at school in front of other people so I could careless what people think of me.

i've cried..mostly cause of a strong pent up emotion.. like anger for instance.. or out of sheer frustreation.. ill cry if i want to quite frankly. and if someone else cries... then thats their problem..quite literally

You try to get through that ****ing "Notebook" movie without a tear.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

I'll up that ante and say, "You try to get through that Notebook movie".

i had no idea people felt so strongly about crying. i personally haven't done it in a long time, not that there's anything wrong with it or i think it's not manly, i just don't feel that deeply about things. i like to think that if one of my close friends or a family member died that i would cry, but i honestly don't know.

wow

anyone who judges someone's moral character just because they cried in public seems like a shallow **** to me.

irony, huh?

yeah.
