The CSI Thread

The story was decent and was a fitting send off IMO. Sara has always been a sweetheart and I thought it was nice that she gave up her career to look after her dad on his sailing trip.

I'm waiting for this to get cancelled. There is just no way I can believe this is going to finish out a second season and judging from the above post it has not gotten any better since I gave up.

Why did they call it CSI: Vegas when the original was exactly that but without the need for a suffix?

I'd rather have a new cast and a new city to be honest. I stopped watching the original ages ago. I wouldn't have minded CSI: Miami returning.

Petersen being back is probably the only thing that would get me onboard a new iteration of CSI, so...

Ive been recently watching a few CSI shows and i do have to say that they are still holding up quite nice.
Kinda miss them to be honest, especially CSI Miami...that was my favorite.

Would be neat to have a few of them around again.

Petersen is part of what puts me off a new show. Him and Jorja Fox. They feel really stale. And Vegas seems like a perpetually dark city going by CSI. I prefer the brighter look and the more over-the-top action scenes of Miami. Plus you can't beat the one liners and sunglasses from Horatio Caine before the Who scream.

It doesn't even feel all that long ago that the original CSI ended and back then it felt like it was dragging on.

I've been watching re-runs of the CSI shows over the past year of lockdown too. Well Miami and NY. Not the original so much. Although Miami never seems to get past season 6 on reruns and then it starts up all over again back to season 2 and goes up to 6. :argh: Just when you think it's getting to season 7.

I find it funny how no one acknowledges CSI: Cyber ever existed. :funny:

I have no idea why they are bringing back these two. As far as I remember both of them quit their jobs and went off to do oceanographic stuff totally away from the desert of Nevada. I guess they will have to explain what happened to...

And probably another dozen names. Obviously some will have moved on, died, or retired but that is still a lot of "where are they now" to squeeze in there.

I thought to mention CSI Cyber. Patricia Arquette is so annoying. Actually most of those characters were annoying.

And how come they didn't give James Van Der Beek dialogue reminiscent of Kevin Williamson to speak? It should've been dialogue no actual person ever uses, let alone a 15 year old from Willmington, North Carolina.

Sometimes it was a headache to watch too with all their odd glitches and other things to appear more techie.

Sad that Marg Helgenberger won’t be back. She was always my favorite.

I had no idea this was coming back. I used to watch the original and Miami, but after watching a couple of seasons of both shows I just got tired of the CSI formula. I don't think I'm interested in a reboot if it's basically going to be the same.

I saw that All Rise has been cancelled and won't be returning for a 3rd season. That potentially leaves Marg Helgenberger free to return to CSI if she wanted to, or at least needed some regular work again.

So they've already filmed some episodes? When is it meant to air? I remember the original began screening here in the UK in the summer of about 2000 or 2001.

Maybe it could lead to a revival of CSI Miami or New York? Miami is the most memeable of the three.

I remember when I got into this show it was during season 3 I think and I don't think reruns where airing but Wal Mart had the S 1 and 2 DVD sets. I remember going and looking for them only to find that they where like $75 - 100 a season. Needless to say I couldn't afford them.

As for the new show I might give it a look but I don't really care. I lost interest in these shows when they were on originally.

I was kind of taken aback by how similar Grissom and Sara look to when the show ended, but then I remembered “Oh right, the show only ended in 2015.”

I was thinking they should be older too but this was just 6 years ago. Seems like longer.

I don't know if it feels longer. It feels like just yesterday it finished. I remember how CSI dragged on long after all the other spin-offs ended. How come Ted Danson is no longer the lead CSI there at the crime lab? Did he permanently join the CSI Cyber team?

It feels like 10 years ago but that might be because 2020 felt like 5. :o

As I recall Ted Danson went off to something new on the East Coast somewhere, I can't remember exactly what he was doing but he decided to move on again.

Is this going to still have the "Who Are You?" theme song or are they going to use a different song by the Who this time round? Or maybe it will just be a cold open with credits coming on the screen, which won't be good.

Just found out about this yesterday, looking forward to it.

If memory serves his family broke up and he went for a new start with the FBI.

Anyone catch the premiere of CSI: Vegas?

It was an okay start. It took ages for the theme music to appear though and what was really odd was that they had the guest credits come up before the actual main credits.

Gil Grissom only appeared at the very end with one line, which is often what happened in some of the episodes anyway. Most of the episode had Sara Sidle and some Jim Brass.

The main CSI lead leading the crime lad reminds me of Oprah Winfrey.

So the potential twist it that Hodges could have been fabricating evidence all these years and could cause all those cases he worked on to be re-examined or thrown out. Sara believes he's been set up just because she knew him. But I think it would be more interesting if he were revealed to be a villain all along. Having an ex-CSI or lab technician as a season big bad would be cool and something new.
