I wonder if this ending was filmed at the time the last episode was filmed, and they just cut it from the episode in case somehow they were renewed, but kept it in reserve as an epilogue in the event they were cancelled Or did they go back and film it again once they absolutely knew?

I think more shows should offer an epilogue that provides closure instead of leaving it hanging.

On Netflix, are they going to air the whole series with this ending included now in future as part of the final episode, instead of the way it originally aired?
