no, actually the bill doesnt say anything specifically about gays. discriminating against gays is merely an acceptable by-product of the bill.

the wording of the bill states anyone may exercise their religious freedom without being burdened by state action. the only way the state may take action against yer exercise of religious freedom is if the state's action is "in furtherance of a compelling governmental interest" and "the least restrictive means of furthering that compelling governmental interest."

So, again, according to my religious beliefs, I can go kick people in the face, unless that goes against the compelling interest of the government.

How do they determine if someone is gay? Is there a questionare while you wait for your table? If a male hugs a platonic male friend would a level of gayness be reached to result in a banning from said establishment? Is hand holding considered gay? Kissing? What about showing of affection to someone of the same gender? Or are they afraid gay orgies might break out in their establishment? Where is the line that the establishment sets to determine who is too gay for them?

I think this law is fine. Here's why:

If you are a business owner and a person of faith where one of the things you cling to is something so inconsequential as how other people choose to love their fellow man (or woman)...fine. That's your right to be intolerant, and hey...that's your company!

But here's the thing...I'm not going to work for you, I'm not going to buy anything from you, I'm going to want nothing to do with you, and I feel sorry for you and your ignorance and I hope you eventually wise up...and a lot of people will feel the same.

I firmly believe that the tides are turning against these fools on a large social scale and they will not make nearly the strides they could as a company that is nonjudgmental and all-inclusive. They may even fail.

So let these people have there businesses and vote with your dollar, as is the American way.

There's also your previous point...how in the hell will they know if you're gay or not unless you wear it on your sleeve? Sexual preference shouldn't matter and I believe in most cases it isn't obvious at all unless someone outright says "oh...and I'm gay btw." Sure you have your very flamboyant, some of which annoy even me with how ridiculous they can be about it...but in general these businesses won't know. So it's really a dumb law.

Though it begs the question: are these businesses not allowed to ask your sexual preference during an interview? If so, again, even given that I'm not gay I'd say "why does that matter" and I'd probably even walk out. And depending on how desperate for a job you are you could lie.

Also...guess what Arizona...I have my own beliefs (call them religious if you'd like) and they clearly state that I will have nothing to do with institutions that discriminate against any people based on their gender, race, sexual preference, favorite color, hair color (even you soulless gingers), etc. As long as you aren't hurting anyone...you go about living how you'd like.

But there are going to be instances where gay people (or even people business owners assume are gay) walk into a restaurant or hotel without knowing that bigots run the place. Why should they have to worry about being publicly confronted by bigots who want to refuse them service?

Gays would essentially be in the same position that Blacks were in before the Civil Rights era, where we had to worry about being humiliated and turned away from any business based on our race. Sure, no one wanted to give good money to bigots, but when you can't find a single hotel or restaurant in an entire state that will serve you it's very hard to travel. It's hateful, it's hurtful and it's wrong.

Wow, this is pretty awful though. From a Christian perspective, I was always taught to love everyone. So religious people who feel threatened by homosexuality should really take a look at what they are supposed to be following, and learn that even if they don't support it, they should not be judging and spreading hate. Would you be fine with a law that said it is ok to do such a thing based on race or gender? Because there is plenty of parts in the bible that you can twist and use if you want.

My whole thing with the gay issue is simple. It doesn't affect me so why should I worry about it? Dude, you want to kiss another man? Go for it. You're a lesbian and you want to get married? More power to you. It's in the same rationale as somebody hating on me because I am a minority. My skin color and ethnicity doesn't affect anyone's daily life. So f*** it. And I say that on grounds of being a decent human being. As a Christian, Jesus became friends with the biggest ****e in the land. If He could that without hating on her, I can be tolerant as well.

I mean the gay community should be the ones to make the decision on a proper course of action. The same way women should decide womens rights. That isnt to say we all cant fight the fight. Just that the party being persecuted should make the decision as to what action we take against the persecution. They are the ones who have the most to lose in this situation.

This law would make it easy to run gay couples out. A realtor doesn't have to sell them a house. An apartment complex doesn't have to rent to them. Car dealers can refuse to sell them cars. Stores refuse to sell them food, clothing and other essentials. Mechanic won't fix your car. Could it also apply to a doctor's private practice?

This just opens the door for so much discrimination all in the name of saving the "persecuted white Christians".

According to this What's Trending video 1:07, someone states the white guy is downtown and black guy is in Hollywood, which has different concentration of cops. I can understand not leaving it exact same place as others would be on that this is a prank have more prejudice in second experiment. It would have been better somewhere along the same street or on an another corner of the block. Another thing is that the white guy and black guy are dressed bit differently..the black guy looks like he just woke up out of bed.
