The Doctor Strange Costume Thread

Like this one.Simple and to the piont

I finally saw the Dr. Strange movie a few weeks ago and to my surprise found out that Morgan Le Fay is mom from Arrested Development. She was hot as hell back in the day.

I think something like this for his basic look, but then he wears the Cloak of Levitation when necessary. Like-a-so:

Actually now I'm on board with this one entirely. Just dark dark midnight blue (so as not to be confused with the material of Captain America's suit. And dark red velvet cape with something more clever than leopard print gloves.

And a mustache (not goatee).

he's the sorcerer supreme. the outfit can look like whatever he chooses at the moment. this would be great for a costume designer to just let go and let us have a lot of these different looks.

Something in line with these sorts of designs.

Doctor Strange should have an old-world aristocratic look with a sort of dark theatrical flair. At the same time, I see absolutely no purpose behind him wearing skintight spandex like anything - he isn't Spider-man doing flips down the street or Captain American in the first Avengers film where he is suppose to look like a superhero - his costume needs to both reflect his character and have some sort of purpose beyond "it looks like it did in the comics!"

Fortunately, Doctor Strange has magic going for him so you could easily make his street clothes something like this:
Which, let's admit, is still pretty theatrical even though it comes down to being just some black trousers, an interesting dress shirt, and a colorful trench coat. It would definitely make someone stand out on Mainstreet USA, thankfully he lives in NYC in the Marvel Universe. Plus WHOEVER finally gets cast, they should be able to pull off the whole aristocratic air that will help carry the outfit.

Then when they enter some other dimension or use heavy magic or whatever it can ust magically turn into the more classical cape.

I think that it's better to pay homage to the costume in the comics than to recreate an exact copy. It would be nice if they were to incorporate the Eye of Aggamotto as the homage piece and forget about the cape in order to stream line the outfit and add in layers.

I have no probs if he wears a suit or some kind of jacket/waistcoat/dress pants ensemble but I cannot budge on the cloak. No trenchcoat crap, I want the long cape and collar. It's a powerful magical artifact, it should be flashy and unusual and a little over the top.

I think they may shy away from a long red coat to differentiate looks between Strange and Star Lord

How's this look? (Fan art by a friend) --

That's one talented friend. Looks superb. Though hopefully in the film he'll have a thicker and wider grey hair stripes with a bigger volume of hair especially the front side.
