BvS The Doomsday thread

Nowhere does it show that this is Zod's reanimated body. Like usual on this board and others people are making assumptions, talking about them as facts, and propagating misinformation. It's exactly why this stupid idea of Batman being retired was spread and still won't die.

Lex could harvest DNA or cells from Zod's corpse to create Doomsday. Lex could study Zod's corpse and gather information from it that he uses to create Doomsday. There are many many ways this could play out in the movie.

^ Even if Barbara Kean WERE to dress up like Harley Quinn and start carrying a mallet and a baseball bat, she still wouldn't BE Harley Quinn.

This creature may look like Doomsday, but if it's Zod's corpse reanimated, it's still Zod rather than Doomsday.

Yes people are assuming DNA from the corpse not the actual body duh lol

What if the part of the creature's brain that once held the Zod persona is damaged, removed or destroyed? Then it is no longer Zod.

A person doesn't suddenly cease to be who they were just because they're rendered brain-dead.

If this creature is Zod's corpse reanimated, even if it doesn't have Zod's personality anymore, it's still Zod.

The brain is the source of all of the body's motor integration, the regulatory of our physiological function and the storehouse of chemicals that influence our psychology. So yes, it is and yes it would.

^ So society should consider brain-dead individuals to be completely new people just because they're brain-dead?

Brain dead people are considered completely dead in almost all cases.

Take for example when a brain dead person donates a heart to a new person. That heart is no longer considered the heart of the braid dead person it's the heart of an entirely new person now.

If Zod's DNA is used to create a new being with a separate conscience it is no longer Zod.

If they are simply using a DNA sample to create Doomsday then that is more acceptable.

This movie seems a bit all over the map-- Luthor, kryptonite, Zod's body, Superman has a militant cult in the desert, unidentified insect-suit characters, Wonder Woman and Doomsday.

Not to fan the flames of this discussion which already becoming ridiculous, but we don't yet know to what extent this "Zodzarro" creature has consciousness.

It may be Zod in mind and spirit, but a heavily mutated body.

It may be Zod's body, but with no sentience/animalistc rage beast

It may even be several Kryptonians at once, a la Frankenstein. Multiple bodies and minds.

Just think, we could very well be looking at Biz-zod-enstein.

If that's what's happened here with this creature, I'd agree with you. However, if this creature is actually Zod's body reanimated, it would still be Zod, even if it were to be called "Doomsday" by someone.

I used this example elsewhere, but Dick Grayson doesn't suddenly become Bruce Wayne just because he puts on the cape and cowl and is referred to by the public as Batman.

At any rate, I've said what I want to say on the subject, so let's move on. :)

Are those tentacles in the scene where Doomsday is being animated? Braniac?

If Zack Snyder says it's Doomsday, it's Doomsday.

He looks like a re-purposed cave troll from FotR

That or a slightly more mutated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle from last year's film.

Just a theory, but if it is Doomsday & we are led to believe he'll have the same traits as Doomsday from the comics and evolve or adapt to anything that has harmed or "killed" him previously, then this would be him at his earliest stage. Meaning he could still reappear further along in perhaps the JLA movie further mutated hense more bone protrusions for protection.

I only say all this because particularly his face, doesn't greatly resemble Doomsday to me.

I'm disappointed for his reveal and kinda disspaointed that he's in this at all.

Unless you work for Warner Bros. or DC, you can't possibly know this.

They could very easily bring in the actual Doomsday character at some point, especially if this BvS creature is in fact ZOD.

no.
