The Dora Milaje

Logan Browning and Megalyn Echikunwoke would be great choices as part of the adored ones.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the Dora Milaje will most likely be played by glorified extras. I don't see Marvel casting big name actresses for what is essentially the role of silent bodyguards.

as for the wives of black panther it could be like a symbolic title

like "they're married to the black panther." not t'challa but the title of black panther, and whomever is currently that person. kinda like the swiss guard and the pope

well they cast Clive Russell as Tyr, which was, essentially nothing more than Odin's bodyguard in TDW. Not exactly a Brad Pitt type A-lister, but certainly not a no name either

Isn't Wakanda supposed to be in East Africa though?

Ha, I'm a lady :cwink:

Agreed. They're very conventional looking. Wakanda should feel foreign.

To my knowledge Boseman isn't African but he doesn't have that American look (for lack of a better word) so he works.

Only American actresses I think would be appropriate would be Tika Sumpter and Rutina Wesley.

Apologies for the presumptions. Yea Boseman has a great look. I know we Africans come in all different shapes and sizes, but I'm not sure how I would feel if they cast Drake or Will Smith lol.

It depends really. I'm sure there's going to be some Dora that have speaking roles, and a heavier screen presence. I would imagine they would be cast by actress's, with extras in the background.

Since we were first introduced to Wakanda in Age of Ultron I can say that the Dora Milaje won't disappoint

Most of them are going to be extras but there should be at least two that are supporting characters with a decent amount of speaking lines.

When was that? AoU is basically a blur to me.

I meant by we were first introduced to the Wakandan world in Age of Ultron not only because of Andy Serkis' character of Klaw but also seeing Ultron, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch show up there but then the Avengers also showing up there where Hulk and Iron Man had their fight

I know a lot of people thought this was a Milaje. She ended up not even being in the film (perhaps the false speculation was the reason).

YAAAASSSS!!!!!!

:chd:

I love how she's straight ice grilling Black Widow. Pure threat assessment. Like you can see her thinking: "Breathe wrong and I will kill you."

Do we know who this actress is?

She looks perfect...Marvel definitely did a good job casting wise

I wonder if they will bring her back for BP's solo origin film especially if she is in Civil War?

Florence Kasumba.

Either way I love that the Dora Milaje are not only represented here in Civil War but also will be represented again in the BP solo film

If the DM make an appearance outside of a BP movie then it's a foregone conclusion that they'll be in a solo BP movie too.

Wooo we're going to get some grace jones level ass kicking in this movie! The Dora milaje were so cool in civil war even if you only saw one and the scene was brief

Indeed. Can't wait till the rest of the world see's this movie so we can really talk about this properly.

I don't want to over hype it because it was so small. More of an Easter egg for fans that are familiar. But I geeked out so hard in that particular scene.

There was another Milaje on the far right side too.

I wonder if they will bring her back for BP's solo origin film especially if she is in Civil War?

I hope so. She was awesome, even if it was just one line.

True and the average african american look you could find in africa,or i should say that look you see in the average african american comes from the african groups they come from in the first place since africans vary in looks anyway and skin tone.
The african american look varies greatly as well.
So africans american look like africans, but it depends on the african ethnic groups and individuals you are comparing them to, plus african americans on average come from a number of different black ethnic groups in africa.
You have to consider diet and climate as well overtime too in the americas and africa.
It's not that much different if you compare white americans to white europeans, but the bigger difference is that africans vary in thier looks more then any other racial groups.
