The Earthquake Thread

Man, I've got people telling me that scientists know FOR SURE that 2012 is happening, what will be destroyed, and what will happen afterwards, as well as everywhere around the world that has or is building shelters and boats etc. Ive been proclaiming bull. However, all these earthquakes aren't helping my side any. Still, scary stuff.

I'm cool with the whole 2012 thing as long as I get my third Batman movie.

Funny, the first things I always jump to aside from my daughter/girlfriend/family etc. is that I hope my favorite movies get a sequel, and my favorite TV shos get a proper finale.
I mean really, half the people here will probably die happy if the world waits till the Avengers comes out.

If the world ends in 2012 I'll have had a year out in the "real world" outta college, that'd be enough for me, really.

Of course, 2013 could come followed by 2014 and so on, and this whole 2012 thing might be another Y2K fiasco, but in any case things are about to get real interesting in the next two years.

I live in California, and this recent rash of earthquakes around the world do make me quite nervous. Nothing we can do about it, though.

Damn, another earthquake? :wow:

At least this time there wasn't any reported injury which it's a good thing.

Did anyone else hear that a 7.3 magnatude earthquake hit northern Japan earlier?

I heard about the Tsunami warning they had, didn't follow up on it. I hope they got all the hentai and robots to dry land.

In all seriousness, I hope it turned out okay for them. I know Japan gets a ton of Earthquakes.

How often do you guys get quake activity in England, if any??

On average, several hundred earthquakes are detected by the British Geological Survey each year, but almost all are far too faint to be felt by humans.

To be honest, all this quake activity happening around the world relatively close in terms of timespan/s, makes me a little uneasy.

8.4 earthquake in Chile. Tsunami alert also. 2 dead so far :csad:
