The Earthquake Thread

Gotta give the Moon credit for it's work. Screw the lazy oceans.

Astronomy is full of scary ****. I hate taking it b/c of all the scary, mind-blowing things. But I didn't want to have to have a separate lab in my schedule, I can do my astronomy labs on my own time.

I love it because of all the scary, mind-blowing things lol. It's a reality check. We're so convinced of our own cosmic significance that we honestly believe that we're somehow above being taken out entirely in some huge celestial event, or even by, say, an asteroid impact.

When you realize that there isn't any reason for you to feel safe, you appreciate existence that much more.

We're navel lint. [/Paxton]

I've heard that the climate could change slightly. If Earth's axis had a positive change in tilt, the planet will warm. It would cause the first day of spring to arrive earlier and the first day of Fall arrive Later. If it had a negative change, it would do completely the opposite.

Any of you fellow California residents feel that earthquake a few minutes ago ?

Where at in California? I live in the Bay Area and didn't feel anything.

Los Angeles County.

The news is saying it was a 6.9 earthquake in Baja California. My stupid cat just looked up at me because the quake woke him up.

I wonder what's up with all these f****** earthquakes lately ? Sam and Dean better get off their lazy asses and stop the apocalypse.

Heh, I thought Californians didn't even blink at an earthquake that was less than a seven :awesome:. Well, 6.9 is a good one, so....uh....thoughts to the californians, you'll get that 10.0 quake soon enough

Honestly the quake itself didn't bother me , but the frequency of the quakes lately has. I also happen to live on the second floor of a 2 story apartment that was built in the 1950s. So I kinda don't want to get crippled or die because the building decides to collapse.

I felt it too, it wasn't that big but I did feel my house shaking and besides it's the norm here in California for quakes I also remember the Northridge earthquake in 1994.

I remember the Northridge earthquake too. That was scary as f***.

someone posted in another board he felt it in Vegas

Even though California looks really beautiful, this is part of the reason why I'm too scared to live there. Too many earthquakes. :(
