The ending: Hitchhiking to the 70's theme song!

When the director just put the visual or audible element's replica only and forget to achieve the actual tone or atmosphere relying on the mere external homage.

I hope so.

Okay, I can understand that. Though I don't think they are going to skip over it. I don't think it'll be a straight shot of a more realistic world, I do believe they will do a nice job of melding comic elements with the show.

I'm just under the impression we are getting influences galore to achieve interest in all types of Hulk fans. Which I find to be a good thing. :cwink:

Banner walks into the sunset with Tootie as the Facts of Life theme plays ;)

LOL "You take the good, ya take the bad, you take 'em both and there you have..."

For once, can I just have a Hulk movie that doesn't reference a show that came out before I was even conceived? It was a good show, but that was the past. It's time to give the audience a new, memorable Hulk story that doesn't flick through a 70's TV show for inspiration.

Ahh it is sooooooooooooo refreshing to know I'm not alone. I sure hope at the end of The Dark Knight we hear the classic DA TA DA TA DA DT BATMAN. Or maybe we hear Batman say "Atomic Batteries to power. Turbines to speed" when he fires up the Tumbler. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :whatever:

I was a fan of the show but feel the movie should not reference that show so closely. A light nod maybe like the mention of a reporter named McGhee but no hitchhiking to sad music. This is the comic book Hulk that can leap miles and hold up mountains, not the TV Hulk that dies from a fall from a plane or fears bullets.

Ahhhhhhh someone who understands

How about this for the opening credits

Dr. David Bruce Banner: physician; scientist. Searching for a way to tap into the hidden strengths that all humans have. Takes an accidental overdose of Super Soldier serum and is exposed, later, to gamma radiation that interacts with his unique body chemistry. And now when David Bruce Banner grows angry or outraged, a startling metamorphosis occurs. The creature is driven by rage and pursued by General Ross. (Banner: "General Ross., don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.") An accidental explosion took the life of a fellow scientist and supposedly David Bruce Banner as well. The General thinks the creature was responsible. A murder which David Bruce Banner can never prove he or the creature didn't commit. So he must let the world go on thinking that he, too, is dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him.

ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :wow:

:applaud :lmao: That is really good.

I don't mind if there's a 'Lonely Man' homage, but you are to be commended on your remark, Cracker Jack.

I hope you're happy. I've got the TV show opening dialogue stuck in my head now, with Norton doing the growl and the end with half of his face covered in green paint. I'm rolling. :lmao:

YES!!! Hearing that was great!! Superhero films should have distinctive scores... Like Superman, & Batman... The X-Men & Spider-man themes were hard to hum, so it didn't stick with you... But it looks like the lonely man theme has been updated to be the incredible hulk's theme, & It sounds really great, for them to take the lonely man theme & make it orchestrated, it sounds much more epic, but I hope they use the piano version too...

Oh yeah baby!

I think i'll allways keep Piano Version as my favorite tho,but it sounds good!

Go to the Official Site(COMPLETELY Updated!!):

http://incrediblehulk.marvel.com/

Pump up the volume... and... do you hear the THEME?!?!?!? :woot::woot::woot::woot:
Nice. That's not bad to play over the opening credits if they choose to open that way. It has a good atmospheric type quality to it; updated, while still being recognizable.

Piano theme is still tops though. :o :woot:

Its not a necessitiy. Sometimes scriptwriters and directors need to worry less about little homages to pander fanboys and just do there own thing, ya know? (See Superman Returns)

well right now, the official site has music playing in the background, that is pretty much an orchestral version of the "lonely man theme"

EDIT: Now that I've fully read the thread I can see we already know..............................carrey on.

Lol...that is good. But I don't remember there being another homage to Tv-series prior to this movie. Was there a homage in Ang's Hulk? All I saw was Lou from series making a cameo not exactly a homage.

There was the "Talbot, you're making me angry" line and a comparable reference (albeit in Spanish) at the end of the film. Maybe some others that escape me right now.

WoW! i just noticed that over at the official site, they play the updated 'hitchhiking scene' music.

I for one am thrilled that they are using that score. Who cares about paying homage and all that nonsense. That score is part of the history of the character now. Its no different then the Hulk's Green skin and big feet in my book.
When I was a kid that was seriously my favorite part of the whole show. It was so expressive and accurate to the character. You felt that dudes pain with those notes. I think they are damn well composed.

I don't give a rip if he is hitchhiking at the end. But when the credits role, I sure hope that piano is tappin' that sweet musical ass.

"ME ESTA ENOJANDO, NO LE GUSTARIA VERME ENOJADO, RROOOAAAAARRRRR!!!":D:up: ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE, I GEEKED OUT WHEN I HEARD LONELY MAN PLAYING ON THE OFFICIAL SITE,:O I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR AN ORCHESTRATED VERSION AT THE END OF THE FILM, I LOVE THE PIANO VERSION BUT AN ORCHESTRA WOULD MAKE IT THAT MUCH MORE POWERFUL, IMO!!!:D:up:

What is the music that plays during the hulk - abomination run toward each other in the trailer?
