The funny thing is the show was never some hard R type show, the violence was minimal and there wasn't any cussing.

Yeah but Hunter as you know, this is more Man of Fire sequel then anything the Equalizer. I bet you the most people under 30 knows about the Equalizer is the segment in The Wolf of Wall Street.

I'm with you Darth.

The show fell out of the cultural lexicon years ago it seems, because I've never heard of it and I consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to pop culture. No one talks about the show. People talk more about Murder, She Wrote than The Equalizer.

It's the power of replay television and dvds. I don't think i've ever seen The Equalizer on syndication or on dvd but Murder, She Wrote is always on tv.

As far as i know, The Equalizer wasn't on syndication in my neck of the woods. If it was, it was like on at 3am.

Good call on "Murder, She Wrote", Octoberist. I never watched the show, but I know it exist. Why? Repeats came on after WWF's Raw when I was kid. So sometimes it got left on.

On the flip side I had no idea what "the Equalizer" was.

Oh the conversation has taken a turn for my liking!

Speaking of "Hunter", maybe that can be the next Man On Fire type role Denzel can take on next. Hunter actually ran the same time as The Equalizer in the mid and late 80's. I wonder who would make a good "Dee Dee"?

Denzel Washington and Liam Neeson need to team up. They're killing the adult oriented action movie game.

Washington/Neeson in Grown Man Movie

Finally got a look at the trailer after a while of going back and forth. Looks like a re-imagined version of the show and character, but is keeping with the essence. I do wish that Denzel's character was already in the "Equalizing" business and that we weren't getting an origin. That was one of the best parts of the show. McCall's history was pretty mysterious and he was just this older gentleman in a nice apartment that seemed retired. I get Denzel doing the everyman thing working still, though obviously an ex operative of some kind. Color me intrigued. Me and my mom and grandmother will be happy. As a kid EQUALIZER was one of our favorite shows.

This summer .... Denzel Washington ... Liam Neeson ... in Staring Down at the Floor, Then Looking Up Again But Much Angrier.

The trailer doesn't do anything for me, like a second Man on Fire. Plus it's creepy seeing Chloe Moretz playing a prostitute.

Whoa...that almost blew my mind. This needs to happen!!!!!

LIAM: I'm going to tell you, very carefully, what's going to happen to you next ...

DENZEL: No, I'm going to tell you, very carefully, what's going to happen to you next ...

BAD GUY: Oh for god's sake. Listen, how about I tell you my location and I just shoot myself right now.

STALLONE: Yo, after you guys get done with that come hang with me and the fellas...

DENZEL: Yeah, will we get more than 5 minutes of screen time at this point?

STALLONE: Well, uh ...

LIAM: No dice, Oscar.

Can it be called Grown Man Movie?

Still a big shrug from me. Denzel's great at playing antiheroes or a badass villain, but I'd like to see him in something lighter (like a comedy) or an ensemble cast-driven film.
