OK...i'm kind of getting tired of all these previews (I refuse to call them trailers...trailers come at the END)

The thing is...previews are getting worse...writers spend all this time trying to come up with interesting plots twists only to have a preview spoil it for everyone within minutes.

It used to be that previews would only give you a very brief, basic outline of the movie...nowadays they reveal all the major plot twists. If Empire Strikes back had come out this year they would have shown the scene where Vader tells Luke he's his father....that is how previews are treating movies nowdays. They take out the mystery and the surprises. They spoil movies.

Take the new Will Ferril movie. We already know HOW he figures out who the voice is in his head...that seems pretty signifanct to the story to me...and yet they just ruined it all by showing it in a preview to sell the movie. Now, the impact of that surprise is gone. The mystery has been hollowed out.

Yeah, that bothers me too. The one that got to me the most was in a tra...preview for Daredevil, where they showed an unmasked Matt Murdock circling the Kingpin during the final battle.
Great, so we know now that his identity's going to be compromised. Thanks a lot. :whatever:

A great example of how insane people are on Asylum Earth.

While I agree, you'd have to be pretty mentally deficient to NOT think he would FIND the writer if the trailer didn't include that part, or there really wouldn't be a movie to watch if not. Besides, from what I've seen, the trailer really doesn't give away how they recitify the whole situation, so there is still a major plotline to reveal.

Not every movie has some big twist or revelation to be laid out, some are just about the experience of watching the characters go about the story.

NOW, if the movie is a thriller or a mystery then they should just keep some things to themselves!

No, not insanity, that is how evolution works, in this case language evolution, once an idea has gone criticial, it's 'meme' is established in too many minds, so even though the actual trailers even call themselves 'previews', we will always call them trailers.

It always struck me odd that previews for movies were once put at the end of movies, seems counter-productive as after a movie the last thing you want to do is sit and watch more stuff. It's now like older movies didn't have pre-content to movies, as news reels were played.

lol, NO, it IS insane, to continue calling something a "trailler", because it used to trail decades ago. It ain't trailling anymore.

It's also established in the minds of the majority that they should say "I COULD care less." when they actually mean "I COULDN'T care less."

Why not use words correctly? It's insane.

Ok, a question, what do you call what a boss gives you for a time when work HAS to be done?
