I couldn't see a thread about this anywhere and as I'm excited as hell for this title I though I'd make one (even if it is just me talking to myself about how much I am looking forward to it).

First, if you don't know who Jeff Smith is pick up Bone: One Volume Edition and enjoy.

This series has been announced for many, many years and most people didn't think it actually existed or will ever so I'm personally thrilled as hell that it is coming out. It promises to tell a definitive Captain Marvel story which isn't ashamed to embrace the characters past or history and personally I also think it looks spiffy as hell.

For me at least it provides an actual story staring Captain Marvel, which is the perfect alternative to Winick's strange trying hard to be cool and bastardization of the character and knowing how awesome Bone was I trust Jeff Smith can write one hell of a story. I'm sure it will be great.

It looks great. But at the price of 5.99 an issue. Im just going to wait for trade.

It's a little pricy, but on the other hand, it is Jeff Smith. And I've been dying to see Jeff Smith on Captain Marvel ever since I saw that first cover.

Love Jeff SMith, not really loving his Captain Marvel. But ill definitely pick this up to counter Winnick's craptastic mini-series.

You just give me more reason to buy it.

your money, not mines. i don't see how you buying it is gonna affect me. is spending your 5.99 supposed to be my kryptonite or something? "aww gee wiz you spent your 5.99, and it did'nt even come out of my pocket shucks!"

No, its not about you GAH, it never is.

Comprehension isnt your strong suit so ill spell it out for you, you have crappy taste, so when you say something isnt worht getting it, its a good indication that it is worth it. So the fact of me buying something, has nothing to do with you, and in no way should affect you, so no, its not about you. You just give me another reason why to justify my purchase.

I should have put in the first post that GAH doesn't need to bother stating that he won't pick it up. It's slightly obvious it's not for him.

It's 4 issues.

In response to the price it is rather expensive but it is 48 pages and it is prestige format, so harder plastic cover good quality pages and 48 pages not your usual 32. I think all added up it's worth it.

That preview doesn't look very good. And they changed around the seven deadly sins.

I can see its worth but 5.99 added on to my already rising pull list oh I just can't take that much more money onto it every month. Even if it is only 4 issues. Heck I put a ban on all mini series just to make my pull liter.

Actually, that's how they were originally.

Instead of being the Seven Deadly Sins they were the Seven Deadly Enemies Of Man probably mainly because of censorship in the 1940s. I think it is said they are meant to be demons captured by Shazam before biblical times and are what the Sins were based on.

Modern appearances have them as the Sins.

Thought I would link an interview at CBR as this is out on Wednesday.

DC have also released a decoder for the comic, which just reminds me of being 5 years old. I guess that's what Captain Marvel is about though.

I guess I'll check out the first ish at my store and see if I'll buy it or wait for the trade after the other issues are done and people comment on them. I have the Power of Shazam GN and to me that has been the current origin. I'm one of the (apparently) few people here that has liked the Trials of Shazam and it IS canon so, to me, this other mini is something interesting to read on the side but not essential.

I'll be picking this up without question. It's ****ing Jeff Smith. It's going to be one of the best things ever published. Period.

I'm looking forward to it, but the price is f***ing stupid.

It's Smith, I grew up reading the Bone series. I'm definitely picking this up

It's prestige format, guys. Wasn't this the same price that DC: The New Frontier was? And wasn't it longer?

The art is extremly subpar, and Billy Batson looks like 5 year old instead of 10 year old. No need to pick up yet another rehash of an era that is long dead.

The art is subpar, lol.
Are you from the Jim Lee worshipper Church?
