Not really, I just despise how it's become the center of the universe for most people. And it's a breeding ground for stalkers and nosy people.

I used to be a huge advocate of social media and online communication in general but lately I've become quite disillusioned with it all. I hate the importance people place on the likes of Facebook.

Wanna hurt or piss someone off? Delete them on Facebook.

Have a problem with someone? Post a cryptic passive aggressive status update. Cue the "Are you ok hun?" comments which are usually met by a "I don't want to talk about it."

Then you have the keyboard warriors, who act all tough and say stuff like "I see some people on my Facebook are idiots for saying or believing in such and such." Please, we all know you restricted who could see the post.

Hey, I know I never talk to you but would you do me a favour and vote for me/a friend/family member to win this competition? Ehhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooo.

Oh look at me lolz I have like 1,000 friends aren't I popular. In reality, you barely know most of these people and probably just interact with the same 10 to 20 people or something.

Sorry for the rant but I just hate how people use the likes of Facebook as some kind of power and status symbol.

This is pretty much what Facebook is used for by the majority of my friends. I use it regularly because I "like" a few things and it keeps me updated on that stuff, photos, and contacting friends.

Never understood how they thought FB would continue to generate revenue? No one clicks adds on the site any more, it's all white noise. Most people dont even notice anything from a company anymore unless it's something they "Like" and then any time that company updates it's status it shows up in their news feeds.

Do they need to start charging for accounts? At least on the corporate level?

Think about it, if they charged every user just $10 a year, they'd still make a killing, and most of the people who use the site heavily would likely pony up for that.

Don't like Timeline? Don't ***** about it, deactivate your profile. Facebook GAVE you the option to get used to this change MONTHS ago... were you really expecting the old layout to stay forever?

And I checking my privacy settings routinely is something that I keep on the top of my to do list every few days. Although I do think that Facebook should be in charge of making everyone aware of the changes they make to their privacy policy's, etc.

I hardly see any ads there, I block about 99% of the crap

Not really. I just don't see why you thought that they'd keep that boring as **** layout forever. Timeline is MUCH better than the old layout.

And again, I said, you had time to get used to the new layout. You may not like it, but if Facebook is something you intend to have for a while to keep in touch with friends and whatnot, you should have considered it. As oppose to acting like this "horrible" layout was just dropped in front of you out of nowhere.

I think a simplified version of Timeline should be made available though, for Facebook newbies.
